TASK

The maps illustrate how Denham has changed from 1986 to the present. Looking from
an overall perspective, there is a major conversion from agricultural land to residential and
especially an increase in the number of houses, indicating a higher population. This
transformation has taken place mainly to the east of the River Stoke.
It is readily apparent that the road has been extended in many directions. On the east
side of the central road, agricultural land has been almost eliminated and replaced by many
houses along the main road. The elementary school has been widened to the rear while the
gardens below have been demolished and partly turned into a retirement home.
The rest of the Denham map has undergone significant changes from the 1986 map.
The farmland on the southwest and the shops side of on the middle road has have been no
longer there instead of been gone accommodations. The post office is still in its place
despite many changes around it.
