INTRODUCTION

The Philippines' increasing urbanization makes accessibility more tricky. It is

worthwhile to plan that manages traffic flows and allows for uninterrupted and consistent

movement from one location to another. Efficient transportation is necessary for enhancing the

country's involvement. The process of assessing the existing state of regional transportation,

preparing for future needs, and fusing all of that with elements of budgets, objectives, and policies

is known as transportation planning.

For social and economic growth, efficient mobility largest and the best transportation are

essential. The construction of transportation infrastructure, whether roads or public transportation,

has far-reaching regional implications. The various modes of transportation are air, water, and

land transport. It should be an inclusive and strategic process involving all communities and

groups affected by transportation infrastructure. As civil engineering students, it is extremely

beneficial to understand this type of topic to improve, increase efficiency, and have a positive

impact on our environment.

No matter where you are in the world, it is necessary to be precise in both the original and

ongoing stages of design as transportation needs continue to increase. The overall standard of

living is highly influenced by transportation thanks to improved education, more employment

options, and easier access to goods. The many regions or some areas can not communicate with

one another without transportation.

SIGNIFICANCE

The vast majority of people had prior experience with public transportation. I

remember before the pandemic, every day, I commute more than an hour from my home in

Marikina City to the school in Manila. If there is no road accident or bad weather, the journey

should only take about half an hour in light traffic. This has been my experience for a long time.

Because of rapid economic and population growth, Metro Manila and other primary cities are

experiencing severe traffic congestion. Public transportation is essential for public life. Our

country, the Philippines, has recently focused on developing and improving public transportation

systems. An efficient transportation system is one of the basic components of the social,

economic, and physical structure of an urbanized society. Transportation systems are part of our

world's larger social, and environmental systems. Its purpose is to coordinate the movement of

people, goods, and vehicles to make the best use of available routes. Roads, railways, airways,

waterways, canals, and pipelines are examples of transportation infrastructure. These services

benefit communities by providing safe, and cost-effective transportation. The transportation sector

in the Philippines faces numerous challenges, many of which are interconnected, such as poor

road network quality, and weak sector governance. Poor urban transport, as well as shortcomings

in planning and financing, are hindering infrastructure development in the country. It causes traffic

in the Philippines due to poor transportation. It affects nearly every aspect of Filipinos' daily lives,

from commute time to indirect effects such as the impact on food prices and all of these will be

costly. But, of course, it will reduce traffic on some of the Philippines' main roads if they plan more

about this. It is the transportation engineer's responsibility to plan, build, and maintain these

transportation systems to ensure safe, and accessible movement.

LESSON LEARNED

There are several things to think about when planning the transportation system.

It is vital for forming cities and raising the standard of living. I believe that learning about this topic

will help you appreciate the reasons behind both the movement of people and things. Additionally,

I've realized that financing infrastructure is one of the major bases when choosing the best mode

of transportation for exporting goods to not waste funds.

At a time when there was no pandemic. academic class yet to be held at school.

as a college student commuter recently that I was in on-the-job training. Instead of an hour, I

travel to school and work (OJT) in LRT (Light rail transit) and it becomes half an hour or less to

spend time going to school. So transportation is important because without upgrading

transportation like LRT, it will spend a long time and smoky travel from one place to another.

People select their modes of transportation based on which is most practical in terms of cost,

time, closeness, and flexibility. Therefore, it's necessary to remember that the price of

transportation affects the price of things or goods.

In the last part of the PowerPoint revealed some future and present projects in

transportation such as rails and airports. Indeed one of these is in the year 2028 estimated to be

completed. I am impressed and increasingly encouraged to become an engineer someday

because of some of these presented projects. I want to be able to take part in some of these

transportation projects. and I am also excited that when the time comes it will be completed and

used in our country and see what effects it has on our economy, transportation, and country.

And in the link given to us last Tuesday, the title is " Investigative Documentaries: Krisis a

transportation as Metro Manila, paano nagsimula?” One of the things that were discussed was

the LRT-2, I was one of those affected when it broke before the pandemic. so I spent more time

traveling to my school EARIST Manila. so it has a huge impact on us as a commuter.

It also discussed problems with traffic and transportation in metro manila such as a lack

of public transport As the population and passengers are growing, Trains and roads are constantly

damaged, others have blocked or have vendors on the sidewalks, etc, and some already rebukes

and some drivers and commuters are not complying with traffic laws and regulations. So the

DPWH or Department of Public Works and Highways is trying to tighten traffic rules and

regulations, as well as the additions of Skyways that some of these, are now using it. And I think

it has changed a lot and helped our transportation well.
