PHONICS – PERIOD 7
I. OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able toachieve the following objectives:
1. Knowledge:
- Vocabulary: Remember more words of activities and understand their meanings.
- Phonics: Remember the sounds /pl/, /sw/ in some words.
2. Skills:
- Listening: Recognize the sounds /pl/ and /sw/ in some words play, plane, swim, swing
- Speaking: Pronounce the sounds /pl/ and /sw/ in words correctly.
3. Competencies:
- Self-study: Students can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves.
- Co-operation: Students are ready to help friends in pair work/ group work.
- Communication: Students are confident in communicating with their friends/teachers.
4. Qualities:
- Be friendly and respectful to others.
- Love English, friends and teachers.
- Be honest, be confident to raise their opinion.
- Be hard-working and willing to get involved in the lesson and complete the required
exercises/tasks.

III. TEACHING PROCEDURE:
1. Warm up (5’)
1.1. Aim:
- Create a friendly and exciting atmosphere before the lesson.
- Students have positive energy to start the lesson.

1.2. Content:

- Remember the words about actions.
- Identify and get correct pronunciation of the sounds /pl/ and /sw/ in words “play, plane, swim,
swing”.

Procedure:
- Ask student to focus on the sounds (the
marked letters) and tell them that we are going
to learn and practice these sounds today.
Provide them the meaning if necessary. - Listen

- Tell students that they can hear 2 consonants.
