Ultrasonic sensors are reliable, cost effective instruments for this

application . In operation , the sensors are mounted over the device.
To determine the distance to the water , it transmits a sound pulse
that reflects from a surface of the water and measures the time it
takes for the echo to return . Sometimes structure components ,
such as a small tap are located in the acoustic path between the
ultrasonic sensors and the water . They can reflect a portion of the
sound and produce a false echo that interferes with the ability of the
sensor to properly detect the echo from the surface of the water .
However , to prevent those false alarms we have used advanced
ultra-sonic senses that can be adjusted to ignore these false echo’s,
which therefore enables them to provide accurate water level
measurements .
