GROUP PROJECT: FINANCIAL STATEMENT ANALYSIS

OBJECTIVES
- To gain a hands-on experience in conducting a study on the organizational financial performance.
- To apply the skills and knowledge of Spreadsheet for an interactive presentation on financial data and
non-financial data. (Data Visualisation with Dashboard)

INSTRUCTIONS
Each group are required to conduct an analysis on the financial position and the condition of the selected
company to be presented to the management.
Requirements:
- Form a group of 4 to 5 students.
- Select any public listed company registered in Malaysia
- Obtain the company’s annual reports for a minimum of five (5) years, (this can be downloaded from the
Bursa Malaysia website)
- Each group must submit a project report that includes the following:
o Company background
o Organizational structure
o Describe and analyze the financial situation of the selected company. Your analysis must not
consist merely of annotated tables of ratios. Ratio analysis is necessary, but not sufficient, to
analyze financial statements and to provide a useful report or recommendation. You must
concisely discuss the firm’s profitability, liquidity, solvency, market growth and overall
assessments from an investor perspective.
o Your recommendations should be consistent with the results of your analyses. o You may include
any analyses or information you believe are relevant and informative, including non-financial
information.
- Each group must also present the project report to the class through Data Visualisation with
Dashboard. The presentation is on Week7.
- Other requirements:
o Report should be types in 1.5 spacing, Font Size 12, Times New Roman
o Maximum number of pages is 20 pages excluding appendixes and references.
o The softcopy of your report and slides presentation needs to be uploaded on Google
Classroom, Week 7 before you presentation day.

MARKS ALLOCATION:

1 CONTENS (accuracy, relevance, originality, details and completeness of information 15%


2 ORGANIZATION (introduction, conclusion, arrangement of ideas and table of contents 3%
3 LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR (proper English language and not Malay translated, proper 2%
usage of verbs etc)
4 PRESENTATION (content, organization and delivery) 5%
TOTAL 25%
