    TARO’S REWARD

    GRADE: VI

    A   Answer the following questions.

    1. Why did Taro run in the direction of the stream?

    Ans: Taro ran in the direction of the stream because he could not remember ever seeing or
    hearing a rushing stream in that part of the forest. Moreover he was thirsty too.

    2. How did Taro’s father show his happiness after drinking sake?

    Ans: Taro’s father was delighted with the sake. After drinking the sake the old man stopped
    shivering and started to dance in the middle of the floor. Sake gave warmth as well as energy
    to the old man.

    3. Why did the waterfall give Taro sake and others water? 

    Ans: The magic waterfall gave the delicious sake to Taro because he was a thoughtful and
    loving son who works hard to fulfil his parents’ wish. Sake was the reward for his goodness.
    To everyone else, it gave cold water because they were greedy.
