The Lateral Side Keys, modify their function depending what is showed in the screen. They are called
LSK(1L to 5L) for the left side, and LSK(1R to 5R) for the right side.

Not all keys and modes are working in the Carenado's Universal FMS, only the modes showed in the
next pages.

INITIAL POSITION PAGE

This is the initial position page, it shows the actual position of the aircraft, date, time and other informa-
tion about the database and version. Pressing LSK(5L) you confirm the data in this page.

FUEL PAGE 1 OF 5

The FUEL PAGE contains 5 pages, which may be switched by pressing NEXT and PREV buttons.

The FUEL PAGE provide information about the fuel on board, fuel burned, zero fuel weight, gross
weight, fuel flow, wind and ISA deviation.

It also shows fuel, range and endurance at the actual position and at destination.

Following are all the fuel pages.

Fuel pages are indicative only. You cannot change the information on them.

FLIGHT PLAN PAGE

In this page you can view create or modify a Flight Plan. The number of FPL pages depends on how
many point does your flight plan have plus a FPL summary page.

When FPL button is pressed the fligh plan 1 page is shown, in this page is set the departure and arrival
airports in number 1 and 2 respectively.
To enter information, press the respective LSK and the cursor will appear, then complete with the
keyboard.
Once the departure and arrival airports is set, is possible to set the desire SID, STAR and APPROACH
for the route, to do this press the MENU button while in the FPL 1 page.
To do so:
- Press MENU
- Press LSK DEPARTURE
- Select by runway, or SID
- Choose the option you want to fly and enter the number.
- Press ENTER
The same procedure is used to set the ARRIVAL and APPROACH

Options to modify your flight plan:

Add a WPT
- Press the LSK where you want to insert a waypoint, type directly in the FMS the WPT
identifier and press ENTER.

Delete a WPT
- Press the LSK corresponding the WPT, and then press DEL LSK

Once the flight plan is complete, and after takeoff, you need to press the NAV on FMS to activate
lateral navigation, or VNAV key to activate and engage the vertical and lateral navigation.

This is the last page of the FPL Pages, you will reach this page pressing NEXT button.

Direct To PAGE

In this page you can select between going directly to one of your flight plan waypoint (WPT) or a new
WPT.
The number of DTO pages will depend on the number of WPT’s you have on your flight plan.

To select a FPL WPT just enter the number of the respective WPT and hit ENTER key.

To select an entire new WPT just enter the WPT identifier directly in the FMS keyboard and hit
ENTER.

PERFORMANCE PAGE

This is an information page, showing a summary of the Performance of the aircraft, showing ground
speed, remaining distance, estimated time en route, estimated time of arrival, ISA deviation, wind, and
fuel performance.

NAVIGRAPH DATABASE
The system already include a Navigraph database, updated up to 2013. If you’re suscribed to
Navigraph or you’re adding a new database you’ll see an update window the first time you run the
aircraft after updating the database.
