CIBESA PROPOSALS FOR PARTNERSHIP WITH KYUES

INTRODUCTION.

This document seeks to make proposals on behalf of CIBESA in regards to the potential partnership with
KYUES. CIBESA as a student association is a means of convergence of Civil and Building engineering
students of Kyambogo University. On the other hand, KYUES is the is a means of convergence for all
student in the faculty of engineering of Kyambogo University. It is therefore imperative that the two
associations work hand in hand with CIBESA thereby being a part of KYUES. This document therefore
puts forth criteria’s that should be met to streamline the relationship and activities of the two
associations.

OBJECTIVES

The main objective of these proposals is to properly define the relationship between KYUES and the
individual student associations so as ensure the growth of student associations in our faculty.

PROPOSALS

 The president of CIBESA should become a member of the cabinet of KYUES and also be part of
the election process of the next president of KYUES.
 The president of KYUES should not be a president of any other student association under the
faculty of engineering to avoid conflicts of interest.
 We second the idea of KYUES membership being a part of CIBESA membership resulting into an
increase of Ugx 2000 of CIBESA membership fees that is to be forwarded to KYUES.
 UIPE Registration should be handled by CIBESA and other departmental associations and
probably Ugx 1000 can be added to the current fee which can be given to KYUES.
 A student must be a member of his or her departmental association and consequently KYUES
before they qualify for UIPE Registration.
 Departmental associations should not carry out UIPE registration for students outside their
respective departments.
 KYUES should be in charge of organizing seminars and webinars with UIPE to improve its
awareness amongst students.
 In regards to the KYUES sports gala, KYUES should organize these events with partnership go the
individual associations and could possibly have the event being a climax to all the individual
sports galas.
 KYUES should also be aware of the events of individual associations to prevent clashing of
events, thus the dates of KYUES events should be made aware to departmental associations
prior to announcement so that any complaints can be forwarded.
 Individual associations could stop organizing their small dinners in favor of having one main
dinner uniting the entire engineering faculty. This dinner in our view has better potential in
attracting numbers that supersede the numbers of these individual association dinners. A
framework of how the dinner is to be organized can be debated and decided on in a meeting.
 KYUES should also consider holding a FINALISTS DINNER in conjunction with all the individual
associations. Possibly the finalist’s dinner could also be done in partnership with the GUILD.
 The relationship between KYUES and the individual student associations should be input into
their constitutions so that continuity of the changes made is achieved.
