INTRODUCTION :-
 ❖ Community Service Project is an experiential learning strategy that integrates
meaningful community service with instruction, participation, learning and
community development

❖ Community Service Project involves students in community development and

service activities and applies the experience to personal and academic
development.

❖ Community Service Project is meant to link the community with the college for
mutual benefit. The community will be benefited with the focused contribution
of the college students for the village/ local development. The college finds an
opportunity to develop social sensibility and responsibility among students and
also emerge as a socially responsible institution

OBJECTIVE :-

❖ Community Service Project shall be an integral part of the curriculum, as an

alternative to the two months of Summer Internships / Apprenticeships / On the
Job Training, whenever there is an exigency when students cannot pursue their
summer internships. The specific objectives are;

⮚ To sensitize the students to the living conditions of the people who are around
them,
⮚ To help students to realize the stark realities of the robin society.

⮚ To protect the low income groups by guaranteeing the supply of certain

minimum quantities of food grains at affordable price.
⮚ Ensuring equitable distribution.
⮚ Controlling the price rise of Essential Commodities in the open market.
⮚ To have a moderating influence on the open market prices of cereals, the
distribution of which constitutes a fairly big share of the total
marketable surplus
⮚ To attempt socialisation in the matter of distribution of essential
commodities.

TITLE OF THE PROJECT :- Providing Awareness on Home Security

INTRODUCTION:-
Saferworld has implemented projects to improve
safety and security at the community level in an increasing number of countries,
beginning in Kosovo in 2003 and now extending to Bangladesh, the Caucasus, Kenya,
Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Pakistan, South Sudan, Tajikistan and Yemen – with projects in
other countries currently in development.
Between 2010 and 2013 Saferworld conducted community security and small arms and
light weapons (SALW) programmes in Kosovo, Nepal and Bangladesh, supported by
multiple donors. The report describes in some detail our work in each country and the
lessons learned about the most effective approaches to community security programming
in fragile contexts.

The relationship between violent conflict, security and development has received growing
attention in recent years. It is now widely recognised that these issues are inextricably linked
and that countries experiencing widespread conflict and insecurity are often severely
hampered in their ability to progress towards sustainable development. However, there is
still much debate over the most effective policy and programme responses to these
challenges, along with an underdeveloped evidence base for ‘what works and why’.
Although it is not an independent evaluation, Saferworld believes that this report makes a
contribution to this ongoing debate and offers evidence that illustrates the impact of
community-level approaches to safety and security.
Disha app
With an objective to promote Disha app for the safety of women, introduced by Andhra
Pradesh Government, the AP Power utilities have taken initiative to create awareness on
mobile application and its installation to all the women employees at Vidyut Soudha keeping
in mind their safety and security.

APTransco and APGenco conducted an awareness programme on Disha app here on Thursday
with the support of Disha Police Station, Vijayawada. Disha app is basically a mobile app which
women can use to alert the nearest police station in case of an emergency
.

• De-escalation: It is the use of voice, tone, and body language to calm a potentially
violent situation before its' advent. Attackers are not always strangers who jump out of
dark alleys. Any acquaintance can attack you. That's where another important self-
defence skill comes into play. This skill is called de-escalation by experts. Saying and
doing things that don't threaten your attacker can give you some control.
• Get Away: The safest method of self-defence is running away when possible. Running
is often the recommended alternative to fighting because of safety and because it saves
the victim of any legal repercussion that would likely result should the victim win the
fight.
• Improvise: Everyday objects, such as baseball bats or body spray, can also be used as
improvised weapons for self-defence, however, they may not be as effective as a purpose-
built weapon. Some non-lethal weapons as the Kubotan have also been build to resemble
