Timber is also known for its strength, durability, and versatility. It
can be used to construct everything from houses and bridges to
furniture and decks. In this project, we learn about a process of
building a table and the used of timber in construction

Equipment and Tools

1) Nail Air Gun 7) Wood Filler
2) Gauge Angled 8) Shellac
Nails 9) Brush
PROCEDURE 3) Table saw 10) Jigsaw
1) Design the sketch table 4) Palm Sander
Create the shape of the table 5) Sand Paper
and estimate the size for the 6) Timber
top, legs and aprons of the 2) Cut the the timber to length
table. Measure and mark the
timber to the desired size
Then, cut the timber by
using table saw or jigsaw

3) Assemble the table

Attach the parts of the table
by using air nail gun with 4) Repairing wood
gauge angled nail

Applied wood filler to fill in

wood surfaces

5) Sand and finish the table

Sand the surface of the table to
remove any rough spots, then
apply a shellac to protect the
wood and give it an aesthetic
value.

RESULT AND CONCLUSION

The process of building a table involve students to identify defects and damage on
timber and understand the types of joints involve in woodworking. This process is just
to ensure the structural integrity and safety of the finished product so its compliance
with the standards. While value of the product are measure by the aesthetic of its
finishing. In conclusion our table is compliance with the standard and we increase the
value of our table by applying shellac
