OCT 3: EVOLUTION OF MUSIC

EVOLUTION OF PHILIPPINE MUSIC
Music from the first decade of the 20th century wasn't a big move from the past decade which
included both jazz and romantic music. First, ragtime music would start in the mid-1890s and
proceed through another two decades. Next, romantic music moved for hundreds of years and
had its ending in 1910. These two sorts of music had the same ideas: piano solos and different
rhythms. At last, in the early 20th century, jazz would fair develop to be more well known, and
romantic music would fade away slowly.

so in this video, we have the 1500s to 2020s of the evolution of Filipino music. its content is
music from the 1500s to the 2020s where jazz music is the same but the rhythms are different.
here discovered different music made from piano solo until having different instruments and
rhythms. why does the music or rhythm of the century change every decade? because in every
decade music is part of the generation so as the decade goes by we Filipinos are looking for
something new or different. so it was made by artistic people. as you can see in the video from
the 1500s to the 1950s it is slow jazz here you can see that the song he sings is more than
slow. next, when the 1960s came here you can see the fast lyrics he sings but the rhythm is the
same It's still slow, but it's also different music that he's playing, otherwise, it's happy music. all
music has different types like genres, it has jazz, classical music, electronic music, folk music,
and pop music every decade all those genres are added so we hear a lot of different music
played.
The 1970s to 1990s is the same as the past decade, the only difference is the rhythm used. all
music is made by artistic people. Where did they get the idea or discovery of making different
music? people have their own creativity. their concept or idea they get themselves such as
experience, imagination, and inspiration. so we have various things to create or establish that
will be used in the new generation.

From the 2000s to the 2010s there are many Gen Z's, which means "young and mobile" here,
the mobile has become as popular as the mobile phone, and various types of music have also
become popular, including rock music, country music, k-pop music, hip hop music, etc. From
the 2017s to the 2020s, nothing has changed in the people who use it, the only thing that has
changed is how to use music, there are different instruments and rhythms that we use, including
writing music.

This video shows the different types of music and the years in which it became popular. music is
part of art that is made by artistic people who discovered, wrote, invented rhythm, and used
different types of genres, which passed generations.

JAN 17: CHINESE AND JAPAN ARTS

CHINESE AND JAPANESE ART
What are the themes of Chinese artworks? Explain why the Chinese focused on these
themes?

China is a creative nation that began creating original artwork thousands of years ago. A brush
stroke pattern that may still be seen in contemporary Chinese art began to emerge as the
society advanced and moved out from cave homes. The country's culture has grown and
evolved with the fundamental theme of nature, harmony, and the elements. Chinese history
demonstrates that the flowing brush strokes used to represent rivers, rocks, plants, and animals
still have resemblance to the original cave paintings. China is known for its intricate jade
carvings, which are utilized in jewelry, interior design, and a variety of other products. Harmony
has always been important to Chinese people. It includes the guiding ideas of society, nature,
and mankind. It is also necessary for developing morals, defending one's family, leading one's
country, and bringing about world peace. The foundation of traditional Chinese culture is
harmony.

In what are Chinese and Japanese art similar? In what ways are different?

Chinese paintings on paper and silk are famous for being created with brushes dipped in
colorful or black ink. On the other hand, Japanese art comes in a variety of forms, including
wood and bronze sculpture, antique ceramics, ink paintings on silk and paper, oil paintings,
calligraphy, and more. A similar writing system that the Japanese gained in the third century is
the only significant point of interaction between Japanese and Chinese. Bright colors are used
in the illustrations of landscapes, flowers, and animals on pottery products. Additionally, they
commonly employed five new porcelain hues, ranging from orange to gold, in their production.

What were some the uses or roles of art during the precolonial period?

During the pre-colonial era, ethnic minorities employed art for religious ceremonies and customs
in addition to daily activity. The majority of ethnic communities’ employ pottery, weaving,
carving, as well as metalwork and jewelry, among other creative forms. Pottery is now more
frequently connected with everyday items like palayoks for cooking and bangas and tapayans
for holding liquids.

How did art become a reflection of our society?

Society is reflected through art. The numerous forms of painting, music, literature, dance, and
other forms of creative expression that make up the arts have a big effect on society, religion,
and education. Art evolves to represent society's new advances as it develops and progresses.
The arts of the Philippines portray a civilization that is influenced by many different cultures and
customs. Malayans originally interacted with traders who brought influences from China and
India. Among the absorbed, a knowledgeable elite formed who started to create a modern
literary culture in the Philippines.
