Your friend, Kelly Cheung, has a very close boyfriend who is a Caucasian. You know they love each other genuinely, but their parents do not allow them to date. She has recently written to you asking for advice. Write a letter in reply discussing the positive and negative aspects of inter-racial marriage, and give your own opinion about this issue as well. The recent strategy adopted by the Hong Kong government to boost tourism involves the building of theme parks like Disneyland. Write an article for your school magazine, giving your views as to the benefits and drawbacks of such a tactic. You should also suggest alternative measures that can be taken by the Hong Kong Tourism Board to enhance Hong Kongs image as an attractive tourist spot.

Your school principal wants to cultivate students reading habits. You are Chris Wong, the secretary of the English Club. Write a letter to May Lam, the chairperson of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), asking for its support to promote an English Reading Scheme in the school. In your letter, describe briefly what the Scheme is about, give reasons why it is worthwhile for students to read English books regularly, and suggest different ways in which the PTA can help. Your school is very conservative, and is against all kinds of virtual entertainment. Recently, you have played a wonderful computer game and found it very inspiring and educational. Write a letter to the Editor of your school newspaper, explaining why you liked this particular computer game and suggesting that your schoolmates should try it.
