I'm Special
By Elizabeth Anne Richards Schrug

I’m special
In all the world there’s nobody like me. Since the beginning
of time, there has never been another person like me.
Nobody has my smile. Nobody has my eyes, my nose, my
hair, my hands, my voice.
I'm Special
By Elizabeth Anne Richards Schrug

I’m special
No one can be found who has my handwriting. Nobody anywhere has my tastes for food or music or art. No one else sees things just as I do.
I'm Special
By Elizabeth Anne Richards Schrug

In all of the time there’s been no one who laughs like me, no
one who cries like me, and what makes me laugh and cry will
never provoke identical laughter and tears from anybody
else, ever. No one reacts to any situation just as I would
react.
I'm Special
By Elizabeth Anne Richards Schrug

I’m Special
I’m the only one in all of creation who has my set of abilities. Oh, there will always be somebody who is better at one of the things I’m good at, but no one in the universe can reach the quality of my combinations

of talents, ideas, abilities, and feelings.

I'm Special
By Elizabeth Anne Richards Schrug

Like a room full of musical instruments, some may excel

alone, but none can match the symphony sound when all are
played together. I’m a symphony. Through all of eternity no
one will ever look, talk, walk, think, or do like me.
I'm Special
By Elizabeth Anne Richards Schrug

I’m special
I’m rare

And, in all rarity, there is a great value. Because of my great value, I need not attempt to imitate others. I will accept-yes, celebrate-differences.
I'm Special
By Elizabeth Anne Richards Schrug

I’m special
And I’m beginning to realize it’s no accident that I’m special. I’m beginning to see that my Higher Power made special for a very special purpose.
I'm Special
By Elizabeth Anne Richards Schrug

. He must have a job for me that no one else can do as well as

I. Out of all the billions of applications, only one is qualified,
only one has the right combination of what it takes.
The one is me.

Because … I’m special!

B. Analyze whether it is intellect or will that is used in the
following statements. Write on the line I for intellect and W for
will.

• Intellect is the faculty of thinking, judging, abstract reasoning,

and conceptual understanding; the cognitive faculty.

• Will is one's independent faculty of choice; the ability to be

able to exercise one's choice or intention.

Discussion Time:

Man is created in the image and likeness of God’s goodness and

beauty is reflected in man. Man’s spiritual soul mirrors God’s
infinite perfect spirit. He bestowed intellect to man-the ability to
understand and reason out. He also gave man the free will – the
freedom and power to choose what is right from wrong.
Genesis 1:27

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Discussion Time:

Man is composed of body and soul, which makes him an obra

maestra of God. Man’s body is useless without the soul. The
body is the soul’s instrument to do God’s will. It is so much like
a candle.
Discussion Time:

A candle is useless if it cannot

produce light. The flame is the
candle’s essence. Man is like a candle.
To realize the full essence of the
body’s being, there is the soul.
Discussion Time:

The soul needs the body, and this is

intended to be united with the body in
order to do God’s will and to love,
serve and be with God. He cannot be
called the man without the composites
of the body and soul.
Man has a sense of consciousness. This is the
ability of man to be conscious of sensible
things. Man sees something through his
external senses to perceive and make
distinctions between the things that enter
into his mind. His intellect finds out what is
true or good or bad, and he makes an action
using his free will.
Man has a memory. He has the power to
recall past experiences and relate them with
new learning. He is also given imagination.
Man can produce images of things and can
exemplify through arts.

He has the instinct – the power to

recognize good or bad.
Answer the 1.) Do you believe that you are special?
Why?
following
2.) As a person, how did you become a
questions: special creature?

3.) What will you do in order to remain

special in the eyes of God?
For Reflection:

Let's read this poem and reflect on its message.

Mission of Man
Mission of Man

Man, O man, look up and say

Why I am here what’s my job, what’s my goal
You are from God, not only clay
You are a person with body and soul.
Mission of Man

If pride you have, God you’d forget

when you do strive to be great aim too high

Greatness will fade, you’ll soon regret

Sooner or later, you’re going to cry.

Mission of Man

You may be blind begging all-day

Mission each one’s got, a job to be done

You are a man, get up and pray

Don’t forget you’re a part of God’s plan.

Follow-up Question

• What is the implication of the lesson in your

life?
• How will it help you become a better person?
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good
works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. - Ephesians 2:10

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should
be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the
world does not know us is that it did not know him. - 1 John 3:1
