This course is co-integrated with the Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy Laboratory Course
and studies the medical and surgical background, evaluation, management, clinical
correlations and documentation of patients with cardiopulmonary conditions, peripheral
vascular and lymphatic diseases as well as endocrine and kidney disorders encountered in
physical therapy settings. The regulation of cardiac, pulmonary, circulatory, lymphatic,
endocrine and kidney functions at rest and the responses of these systems to differing
modes, intensities and durations are also discussed. Emphasis is placed on understanding of
medical conditions, tests and interventions and its correlation to Physical Therapy
assessment and treatment.
