Construction layout, also known as construction staking, is the process of evaluating


and calculating appropriate offset points and survey points by mapping the proposed
structures such as roads, buildings, slab edges, and structural columns. People
involved in conducting a construction layout are Architects, Builders, Estate surveyors
and valuers, Land surveyors, Quantity surveyors, Town planners, Civil, Electrical,
Mechanical and Structural Engineers.

Commonly, Materials used in construction layout are wood for its lightweight and
availability, concrete for its durability and resilience, steel for its versatility and flexibility,
cement for its longevity and maximized energy, and, lastly, nails for its easy installation
and lessen the expenses.
