ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I would like to express my deep and sincere gratitude to my
principal Mr. Bishnu Ghimire as well as supervisor and head of
department of math Mr. Mahesh Bhattarai for giving me the
opportunity to do this project and providing invaluable guidance
throughout this project. His dynamism, vision, sincerity and
motivation have deeply inspired me. He has taught me the
methodology to carry out the report and to present the project as
clearly as possible. It was a great privilege and honor to work and
study under his guidance. I am extremely grateful for what he has
offered me. I would also like to thank him for his friendship, empathy,
and great sense of humor.

XI BIOLOGY
1. (a) From the digits 1,2,3,4 list all possible numbers formed with 3
digits without repeating digit in same number.
Solution
All Possible Numbers Formed with 3 digits without repeating digit in same number
are =
(123,132,124,142,134,143,213,231,234,243,214,241,312,321,314,341,324,342,412
,421,431,413,423,432)
Therefore all possible numbers formed with 3 digits from the digits 1,2,3,4 without
repeating digit in same number = 24 Numbers
1. (b) From the set (1, 2, 3, 4), list all possible subsets containing 3
elements.
Solution
1
1. (c) Compare the two results and write a report addressing the
results in terms of permutation and combination.
All possible numbers formed with 3 digits from the set (1, 2, 3, 4) without
repeating digit in same number = 24 Numbers while the number of possible
subsets containing 3 elements from the set A = {1, 2, 3, 4} is 4.
4 × 3× 2× 1
= 1!
= 24 Numbers
Therefore all possible numbers formed with 3 digits from the digits 1,2,3,4 without
repeating digit in same number = 24 Numbers
2
Therefore, the number of possible subsets containing 3 elements from
the set A = {1, 2, 3, 4} is 4.
CONCLUSION
1. (a) Therefore all possible numbers formed with 3 digits from the digits 1,2,3,4
without repeating digit in same number = 24 Numbers
1. (b) Therefore, the number of possible subsets containing 3 elements
from the set A = {1, 2, 3, 4} is 4.
