Safe Water
Safe water means water that will not harm you if you
come in contact with it. The most common use of this term
applies to drinking water, but it could also apply
to water for swimming or other uses. To be safe,
the water must have sufficiently low concentrations of
harmful contaminants.
Safe and readily available water is important for public
health, whether it is used for drinking, domestic use, food
production or recreational purposes.
Improved water supply and sanitation, and better
management of water resources, can boost countries'
economic growth and can contribute greatly to poverty
reduction
Characteristics of Safe Water
To be considered healthy drinking water it must
be:
