My name is Amanda Sandvig and I am writing to be considered as a student teacher candidate

in your district. I am a non-traditional online student in my fifth semester at Dakota State
University majoring in K -8 Elementary Education. I also have minors in PreK-12 Reading and K-
12 Educational Technology. I am excited to begin student teaching as a final step of my teacher
preparation program.

My skills, background, and work experience have prepared me to be an exceptional student

teacher for your district. I excel in Elementary content knowledge and academic approaches
that are proven effective with elementary students. I have strengths in behavior and classroom
management, communication, and collaboration. My coursework at DSU has prepared me to
motivate my students to become lifelong learners as I provide them with foundational concepts
of reading, writing, and mathematics. I am also interested in being involved with any school
committees.
