7) Kriti has 15 pencils. Seven of them have an eraser at one end. The rest of the pencils
do not have erasers. What is the fraction of the pencils that do not have erasers?

Total number of pencils = 15

Number of pencils with erasers = 7

Number of pencils without erasers = 15 − 7 = 8 (1 mark)


Number of pencils without erasers 8
Fraction of the pencils without erasers = = 
Total number of pencils 15
 (1 mark)
