PREPARATIONS REPORT

The first thing we needed to do was decide whether we

were going to cover one festival in detail, or an array of
festivals in short. We decided to present one festival.
Choosing the festival was its own task. We had to sort
through the running notes we made during the zoom
meeting as well as consult google to narrow it down to
King’s Day. The overarching plot of a person from another
country coming to locals to hear about the festival was
simple and doable. The topic we chose was Koningsdag
as it has a rich and colourful history that we could translate
into a movie. We were all fascinated by this particular
festival.

The script was written by the group leader with inputs from
all the members of the group. Accordingly, we made a list
of all the props and costumes that were needed for the
same and collected them according to availability.

The hardest part of this process was coordinating a time

and place to film the movie. With everyone’s different
tuitions, classes and other commitments, finding a time
slot that suited everyone was a big challenge.
We communicated through phone calls, WhatsApp as well
as google meet.

Our research was done from google as well as all the

information we had gathered from our interactions with the
other school.

Shooting the video ended up being an extremely

enjoyable and fun process. Though formal in the
beginning, all the group members eased around each
other by the end. There were a lot of bloopers, laughs and
fond memories associated with filming this movie. We all
worked together very well. We shot the movie at the house
of one of our members that was very close to school. We
carried our own clothes and everyone arranged for
whatever props were available to them. We had a very
cooperative and friendly environment, which made filming
and editing at the last minute less stressful and more
lighthearted.

We used our phones to record all the clips, and an editing

app called InShot to compile the clips into one video, add
background music as well as voiceover.

By the end, we were all satisfied and proud of the work we

had put in, both individually and as a team.
