RHONDELA’S NEWSLETTER JAN—DEC 2022

KIDS FOR CHRIST MINISTRY

Dear Ministry Partner,

A Happy, Blessed and Prosperous 2023 to you and your family. We Made it! Thank God
we made, we made it this far by His Grace. Sometimes as I sit and reflect on God’s good-
ness and deep love for me it brings me to tears. To know that I am so underserving yet He
relentlessly loves me and pursues me and cares for me is something that I will never be
able to grasp.

Sometimes in life we are so caught up with where we want to go, what we want to do in
the future, longing for a change that we fail to realize that “Here” (where we are now) is
Holy; that God is accomplishing His purpose in and through us in our broken, messy and
unfinished state. You may not be where you want to be now emotionally, spiritually,
physically and financially but trust the Process. Submit yourself to God, walk in obedi-
ence to His word and in the fullness of time, when He has tried you, you will come out as
pure gold, He will accomplish every word He has Spoken over you.

As we have entered into the year 2023, I pray you meditate on psalm 23 and claim every
promise for yourself. I pray that God will manifest Himself to us as Jehovah Raah- Our
Shepherd and that we will have “no want” in 2023 and beyond. It is with great joy that I
share with you some of the things that God Has been doing in and through the KFC min-
istry for the past year. Please see below some ministry Highlights for 2022. PRAISE REPORTS:

NEW SEASON
The aim of the Kids for Christ Ministry is to help him and his family since its incep-
to provide mentorship to children in chal- tion in 2011. It was very encouraging to

NEW BEGINNINGS
Coming out of our meeting with the Pastors in March, I am happy to report that
Pastor Williams from South Nazarene Church decided to take a leap of faith and
started their Kids for Christ in South Ruimveldt ministry in June. Rev Arlene Mun-
roe, of the said church, is the new KFC Director in South, and Allison, Malini,
Shivanah & I are working along with them, until they get more workers and find
their footing. Our Vision is to start this ministry in different parts of Guyana.

Children & Teachers of Durban I am mentoring the teenagers, Christon, Christian, Jamella and Joel. There are ap-
Backlands KFC Center proximately 18 children in the program. While all the children in this center are
not all needy physically they are all needy spiritually.

TRAINING
In the month of April, we were able to register 12 persons for the SAYYES online
Training run by our Minnesota counterparts. Moreso, 7 of those trainees joined 2
of our teams. One of those persons was Garvin, who is currently mentoring in the
Durban Backlands Community, what a joy to see a mentee becoming a mentor.

DURBAN BACKLANDS IN ACTION

As mentioned earlier, during the first quarter of this year, the programme expanded by God's grace to a second location based in the
South Ruimveldt community. In Durban Backlands however, the Ministry continues with a team of nine (9) committed mentors
along with four (4) faithful persons who lend their support in the form of teaching. Christopher Heywood is currently leading the
team in Durban Backlands and doing a great job. The Durban backlands team have been fortifying themselves and meeting with
parents in the community to find available places in the community to meet with children since we no longer can use the Primary
school in the area which we used for the last 10 years.

Upon sharing the vision of the KFC ministry with respective community members and requesting the use of available facilities,
permission was granted for the KFC team to conduct classes in three locations - in a living room of a resident, under an unused hut,
and under a shed that would be shared with a community member who sells snacks. The KFC team contributed to the construction
of a zinc roof for the hut, and the construction of the compartmentalized shed. Pictures of classes being conducted in the completed
makeshift classrooms could be seen above.

NEW OPPORTUNITY EVENT

On the 5th of November the Campus Crusade for Christ Ministry held a New Opportunity Event, which is basically an event where
we challenge individuals to come on as full-time staff, associate staff, part time staff or volunteer. We had 25 participants in attend-
ance including 10 staff.

CHRISTMAS PARTY
On December 17th and 18th , the Durban Backlands (DBL) and South Ruimveldt Nazarene KFC team had their Christmas Party, respec-
tively. It amazes me how the Lord provides each year for our Christmas projects. Republic Bank donated money towards the gifts for the
children in both centers, and other kind hearted individuals from the Bethel Gospel Hall and the South Ruimveldt Nazarene Church
provided food and drinks for the parties. The DBL team had their party at Bethel Gospel Hall, some families were able to receive ham-
pers.

TESTIMONIES
JEVAUGHN GRANT (Mentor): "My continued journey with Kids for Christ has
been certainly worthwhile. I'm not implying that there weren't days when I was
extremely frustrated, annoyed and exhausted. However, when you love what
you do, those days come to influence you for the good. Additionally, I'm always
encouraged by the Word of God. Galatians 6: 9. Blessings."

GARVIN DOVER: "Hey everyone. My name is Garvin Dover. I just want to

thank God for all the wonderful things that he has been doing in my life . I was
once a mentee at KFC known as Kids For Christ which helps kids and also their
family members and their community to know God and live for him. Apart from
that I benefited a lot in many other areas of my life: for example academically,
socially, etc. My time as a mentee at KFC was wonderful; it helped me to make
the decision to believe and follow Christ. I also grew close to God through the
help of other teachers and my mentors (Miss Oslyn and Miss Rhondela). I am
really grateful and thankful to God for all the teachers of KFC and the support,
guidance and fun times that I experienced during the years. It was therefore an
easy decision for me to volunteer and give my time and help to the youths as a
mentor of KFC after all that I have experienced."

for connecting us. Words cannot express how deeply ap-
preciative I am for your love, your giving, your prayers
and support over the years. You have made such a differ-
ence in my life and further the lives of others. For this I
am truly thankful. Thank you, thank you, thank you….
I look forward to partnering with you in a greater way as
we continue to fulfill the Great Commission.
In spite of all the challenges, it was still a good year. All
praise and thanks be to Almighty God.
