THE 9TH OF TISHREI IS THE DAY OF
PREPARATION FOR YOM HAKIPPURIM AND

THE SECRET OF THE 5 FORMS OF
AFFLICTIONS ON YOM KIPPUR
ALL OF THE SUFFERING THAT A PERSON
UNDERGOES IS A RESULT OF THE FIVE
POINTS OF TZIMTZUM (CONSTRICTION OF

FEEL THE GREAT LIGHT OF PURIM – WHICH
IS A JOY OF EATING AND DRINKING – AND TO

THE FUTURE, WHERE YOM KIPPUR WILL BE A
DAY OF BLISS, WHERE INUY (SUFFERING)
WILL BE CHANGED TO ONEG (PLEASURE) AS
THE ZOHAR TEACHES.

THE FORGIVENESS ON YOM KIPPUR


IS IN TRUTH BECAUSE OF THE HOLY
INTOXICATION OF PURIM THAT THE
TZADDIKIM, WHO ARE AT THE LEVEL OF THE
FUTURE, CAN FEEL ON YOM KIPPUR – THEY
CAN FEEL THE GREAT LIGHT THAT WILL BE
SHINING ON THIS DAY IN THE FUTURE.

THE AVODAH OF THE KOHEN GADOL
INSIDE THE ARON KODESH (HOLY ARK) IN THE
KODESH KODASHIM WAS A SEFER TORAH. WHEN THE
KOHEN GADOL WAS THERE ON YOM KIPPUR, NO ONE
ELSE WAS ALLOWED TO BE THERE.

A PERSON IMAGINES THAT IN ORDER TO BE WORTHY


OF UNDERSTANDING TORAH, HE NEEDS CERTAIN
PEOPLE TO HELP HIM AND EXPLAIN IT TO HIM. HE
THINKS THAT HE IS DEPENDENT ON CERTAIN PEOPLE
TO RAISE HIM TO HIGHER LEVELS. THE TRUTH IS
ONE’S ELEVATION DOES NOT DEPEND ON ANY
PERSON.

ALTHOUGH A PERSON NEEDS TO HAVE A FRIEND AND


A TORAH GUIDE, AS THE MISHNAH IN AVOT TEACHES,
HASHEM DESIRES THESE SPECIFICS WITHIN ONE’S
AVODAH, BUT IT ALL DEPENDS ON HIM.

SOMETIMES A PERSON DOESN’T HAVE A REBBE OR A


FRIEND, AND HASHEM HIMSELF BECOMES THE
PERSON’S REBBE OR FRIEND. HE IS EVERYTHING. NO

YOM KIPPUR IS SHABBAT SHABBATON,
IT IS THE SHABBAT FOR THE WHOLE
WORLD. IT IS THE LIGHT OF TESHUVAH

ON THIS DAY THE ENTIRE WORLD CAN
DO TESHUVAH.
