Today, when we think of famous music bands or artists that have made a mark and have proved

that they deserve all the fame, a name pops in mind: BTS. Now, surely it doesn’t need to be
mentioned who BTS are or what they do. If you are a person who uses social media, you would
know just fine who these men are. As for the people who do live under a rock, BTS is a highly
famous k-pop band and we can even easily call them the most famous k-pop band that rose to
fame in recent years. But of course, it takes a lot of hard work and a heart filled with passion to
conquer something as complex as music on the global level.

BTS initially started their career in 2013, debuting at a young age they had their fair share of
hardships. By now everyone has listened to their hit songs ‘Dynamite’ or ‘Butter’ at least once, if
not precisely on any music platform, you must have listened to it on someone’s Instagram story
or perhaps in a youtube advertisement. While these two songs are on the brighter side and are
meant to cheer you up, BTS has always made an effort to talk about mental health and other
issues through their music, they have also used their platforms time and time again to talk about
social issues and problems faced by today’s youth, which is one of the many reasons for their
massive fame.

Their recent anthology album ‘Proof’ was yet another hit but what followed was something that
made everyone sad, even the general public. Just four days after the release of ‘Proof’ and one
day after their 9th anniversary as a group together, BTS announced that they will be taking a
break from group music. This took everyone by surprise. Their very own fandom ‘Army’ took
over social media expressing their shock, sadness and support. While everyone was sad, they
couldn’t deny the fact that the boys deserved this break. Many took to Twitter and said that the
seven members have worked hard for the past years and deserve to relax for a little while.

Amidst the chaos, BTS’s agency, Bighit Entertainment clarified that BTS will not be taking a
hiatus and that they would just be focusing more on their solo activities. This made everyone
take a big sigh of relief. It will be interesting to see how the future treats our hardworking boys
and there’s no doubt that everyone is excited to see the new versions of the members where
they express themselves as individuals rather than members of BTS.
However, the world moves faster than we think it does. There have been discussions on social
media about there being two situations, the first one, even though they are one of the biggest
artists right now, their hype will die down as more time passes because people might find
alternatives and the second situation is where their popularity will skyrocket once they go back
to making group music. After all, that’s how much people missed them. It is still too soon to
judge but it can safely be said that everyone is waiting to see what’s going to happen in the
future to the boys.

As for their solo activities, everyone is more than excited to see newer sides of the members. It
is surely going to be a treat to see all of them in their element. The eldest member JIN, has a
degree in acting and he has mentioned that he would like to try it out sometime, will we finally
be able to see him on the big screen making his acting debut? Will V go back to filming
k-dramas? Will we see SUGA and RM producing more songs for different groups and artists?
What type of music will the rest of the members put out? Only time will tell. J-hope on the other
hand is already set to commence his solo activities, he is to headline one of the biggest and
most iconic music festivals ‘Lollapalooza’ on the 31st of July 2022 in Chicago, Illinois. And to
say that this is crazy would be an understatement, not only is he going to be the first Korean
artist to headline the festival but he is also going to be the first one out of the seven to have a
solo activity after the group’s break. So armys are more than excited and pumped to see how he
performs and to see what the other boys do in the future as well. For the most part, everyone is
excited to see their individual colours and to see what the members have to offer henceforth as
soloists.
