It is an undeniable fact that the 21st century became an era of scientific and
technological advancement. Our world is undergoing rapid and intense changes at
an unbelievable speed. Left and right innovations, digitalization, and technological
improvements. As someone who lives in the modern world, it has been proven
that modern life is really hard to imagine without science and technology. In the
present day, multiple technologies have been developed to help and assist people
in their households, communities, schools, and offices. The new technology has
been a great help in every aspects of our lives, making information more
accessible, making communication faster and possible through mobile phones
and internet, changing transportation such as self-driving cars, transforming
whole industries, reshaping consumer demands, and challenges conventional
business logics and the list goes on and on. It seems like the world is now on our
fingertips today all because of science and technology.
Furthermore, in the past years, we all know that science and technology
have been the drivers of the world’s economy. As a result of technological and
scientific revolution that sustains economic development including improvements
in health care systems, infrastructure, businesses, education and other areas. A
higher rate of innovation in countries; a shift to more knowledge-intensive
industries and services; and rising skill requirements. These are just some of the
helpful benefits of the rapid application of science and technology that was
brought to us until today. In addition, it is also found that countries that are
science technology innovation oriented have sustainable competitiveness and
long run growth. These changes imply that science, technology and innovation are
now key to improving economic performance and social well-being.
The upgrades in science technology innovation are main driving engine of
global competitiveness, economic growth and development practices. Therefore,
countries can now posess their global competitiveness, economic growth and
development in the long run by applying these science technology innovations.
Therefore I can conclude that, under the highly globalized and competitive world
economy circumstances, science-technology and innovation oriented
competitiveness strategy is the most essential factor for many countries. In this
day and age, it seems like the world is changing and it’s not that easy to keep up
as we all perceived. The world changes, so do you. We have to keep up and stay
relevant in today’s workforce as much as we can. The bad news is, change is a
very scary thing. But the good news is, change is a also great thing. Because
change is a part of life ; and science and technology innovations are a mechanism
to survive.
