VRV IV – Test Run Overview
On completion of refrigerant charging the test run function must be initiated and
successfully completed prior to operation. There are two test run options available, the
desired test run can be selected via mode 2 setting 88 (see following slide to determine a
suitable test run for your installation)
Short Test Run (mode 2 setting 88 = 1)
• Test run lasts approx. 45 minutes
• Checks stop valves are open & refrigerant flows to all connected indoor units
• Judgment of field piping length (pressure drop)
• No Leak detection function available
Full (long) test run (mode 2 setting 88 = 0) Default factory setting
• Refrigerant trim charge amount must be input via mode 2 setting 14
• Test run lasts between 2~4 hours
• Checks stop valves are open & refrigerant flows to all connected indoor units
• Judgment of field piping (pressure drop)
• Retrieval of detailed refrigerant level information
• Leak detection function available if required

* Failure to perform a test run will result in an error code display of “U3-03”
* Failure to input the trim charge amount prior to activating a long test run will result in a warning
code display of “U3-02”

Remote operation (via T1/T2)
• Allows to control the unit remotely via a potential-free contact
➔ Every VRV indoor unit is provided with the T1/T2
terminals that can be used to control the unit using a
simple contact (potential- or voltage-free).
 The following control methods can be used, depending
on the field setting made using a remote controller:
 When the contact between T1-T2 is closed, the unit stops and it is impossible to turn
Forced OFF it on by the remote controller
(22-1-01)
Default (factory) setting
 When the contact between T1-T2 is re-opened, the unit DOES NOT restart, but it is
possible to turn it on by the remote controller
 When the contact between T1-T2 changes from open to closed, an “ON” command
is sent to the unit (i.e. if it is off, it is turned on; if it is on, nothing happens)
Remote ON/OFF  When the contact between T1-T2 changes from closed to open, an “OFF” command
(22-1-02)
is sent to the unit (i.e. if it is on, it is turned off; if it is off, nothing happens)
 In all cases it is possible to turn the unit on and off by its remote controller
 When the contact between T1-T2 is open, the VRV system stops and the A0 error is
shown on the particular unit, U9 on other units in the same system
External Alarm  It is not possible to operate any indoor unit while the contact between and T1-T2 is
(22-1-03) open
 After the contact between T1-T2 is closed, the whole system returns to it’s previous
operation
Multi-tenant use  Only applicable for FXFQ-P, FXMQ-P and FXAQ-P units when using Multi-tenant
(22-1-04) option. Functions similarly to “Force OFF” setting.
61
Multi-tenant option Allows to turn off main power supply to an individual indoor unit

When using one 24VAC source for multiple Multi-tenant applications (multiple indoor units),
adhere to the following precautions:

• The transformer power has to be minimum 24VA per indoor unit – more if long wiring is used
(losses in wiring)
• In case of the DTA114A61, the 24VAC power must not be routed directly into the card, but via
the relay coupled to the main power supply:
