VRV IV – Test Run Overview
On completion of refrigerant charging the test run function must be initiated and
successfully completed prior to operation. There are two test run options available, the
desired test run can be selected via mode 2 setting 88 (see following slide to determine a
suitable test run for your installation)
Short Test Run (mode 2 setting 88 = 1)
• Test run lasts approx. 45 minutes
• Checks stop valves are open & refrigerant flows to all connected indoor units
• Judgment of field piping length (pressure drop)
• No Leak detection function available
Full (long) test run (mode 2 setting 88 = 0) Default factory setting
• Refrigerant trim charge amount must be input via mode 2 setting 14
• Test run lasts between 2~4 hours
• Checks stop valves are open & refrigerant flows to all connected indoor units
• Judgment of field piping (pressure drop)
• Retrieval of detailed refrigerant level information
• Leak detection function available if required
* Failure to perform a test run will result in an error code display of “U3-03”
* Failure to input the trim charge amount prior to activating a long test run will result in a warning
code display of “U3-02”

When using one 24VAC source for multiple Multi-tenant applications (multiple indoor units),
adhere to the following precautions:
• The transformer power has to be minimum 24VA per indoor unit – more if long wiring is used
(losses in wiring)
• In case of the DTA114A61, the 24VAC power must not be routed directly into the card, but via
the relay coupled to the main power supply:
