    Growing up, I was always interested in understanding how things work, and nothing

    intrigued me more than the media presented to me. Film, TV, and video games
    created fascinating worlds I could explore, leaving me with creative inspiration and a
    sense of wonder. After looking at the range of career options in the film industry, I
    am particularly interested in post-production and how the audio and editing of a film
    can help with the immersion of the viewer.

    When I was 13, I got into video editing while trying to make content for my YouTube
    channel. I started with essential, free editing software and started playing around
    with all the features, teaching myself how to do some basic editing and building up
    my skill set. Once I had entered College, I took an IT course that expanded my
    knowledge using Adobe software, but it was not until this year, when I returned to
    College for my Access to HE Media course, that I discovered how much I enjoyed
    editing. From editing all the sounds for a movie clip, repurposing footage to create an
    original piece, and working together to produce a film, my exposure to media
    production has been exciting and furthered my passion.

    I have experience working within teams to achieve mutual goals - retail and sales
    work gave me the upper hand in communication and working within teams,
    especially in high-pressure situations. My hobbies have helped within my endeavors
    on my course; I consume media such as film and video games but also produce
    media for friends such as dungeons and dragons campaigns. I love to analyze the
    worlds created by others technically and creatively to help me develop and learn as
    a creator. The skills gained from my teamwork and development experience will
    allow me to flourish in a course in film.

    It would be an excellent opportunity to enroll in this course, as it will allow me to gain


    more knowledge on different areas of film and explore many more ways to apply my
    creativity. It will allow me to grow as a person, teaching me new skills I can use to
    reach my goal of a career in the film industry.
