Whether you are an avid fan of the Marvel

Cinematic Universe or are Lnally ready to get into
superhero Llms and delve into the most popular
movie franchise of all time, then you may be
wondering which order to view the Llms in.

Of course, you could just watch the Llms in the

order they were released in or you could decide
to watch them in the chronological order of the
MCU timeline.

However you choose to watch, RadioTimes.com

has everything you need to watch the Llms and
TV series in this order, whilst also letting you
know the order of the Llms and TV series by the
ranking on IMDb and review aggregator website
Rotten Tomatoes.

So, if you are keen to start watching the movies

then look no further than our guide!

In addition, we we can also include Disney Plus'

vast library of series with the emotional but
quirky WandaVision, the thrillingThe Falcon and
the Winter Soldier, the timey-wimey Loki (check
out our breakdown of the jaw-dropping Loki
ending for details), the Christmas-themed
Hawkeye, the spooky but epic Moon Knight, the
family-friendly Ms Marvel, and the often-amusing
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law.

Don't worry, there is plenty more on the way too,

including Hawkeye spin-o\ series Echo, Loki
season 2, Ironheart, WandaVision spin-o\
Agatha: Coven of Chaos, and the return of the
Man Without Fear himself, Daredevil: Born Again.

Thankfully, it's never been easier to watch all the

Marvel movies in order as Disney Plus has nearly
every movie, and they come in the pristine
resolution of 4k too.

Recently, the streaming platform has welcomed

the majority of recent theatrical releases,
including Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend
of the Ten Rings, Eternals, and Doctor Strange in
the Multiverse of Madness.

We also have you covered for how to watch the

Spider-Man: No Way Home streaming release,
which is a little more complicated due to the
rights issues of it being owned by Sony Pictures.

Also, in the case of watching Spider-Man: No Way

Home, you will also need to be up to date on how
to watch the Spider-Man movies in order.

Meanwhile,Thor: Love and Thunder is also now

out now in cinemas, adding more movies to
Marvel's output with a slightly simpler place in
the timeline (they take place after Avengers:
Endgame explicitly).

We will deLnitely keep you posted on when Thor:

Love and Thunder becomes available on Disney
Plus to stream.

The next big cinema release heading our way is

the much-anticipated Black Panther: Wakanda
Forever (11th November 2022), pay tribute to the
late Chadwick Boseman who sadly died in 2020.

The Llm will also bring Phase Four of the MCU to

a close, along with the upcoming Guardians of
the Galaxy Holiday Special which arrives on
Disney+ in December.

There are plenty of new Marvel cinematic

releases on the way too in Phase Five, including;
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (17th
February 2023), Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 3
(5th May 2023), The Marvels (28th July 2023),
Blade (3rd November 2023), Captain America:
New World Order (3rd May 2024), and
Thunderbolts (28th July 2024)

After this, Phase Six will begin with Fantastic Four

(8th November 2024), before concluding with
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (2nd May 2025) and
Avengers: Secret Wars (7th November 2025).

Phases Four to Six will make up The Multiverse

Saga, akin to how Phases One to Three made up
The InLnity Saga.

For more information on all of the above

projects, check out our full guide to the upcoming
Marvel movies and every upcoming Marvel
series, which will make sure you don't miss a
thing.

Studios' ETERNALS.

With so many new additions on the way the MCU

timeline can get a little muddled, but there are
two main ways to watch Marvel movies in order,
chronological order, which kicks things o\ with
Captain America: The First Avenger, or Marvel
movies in release order, which starts with Iron
Man.

When it comes to the best Marvel movies in

order, it's really down to you, we like seeing
things in release order as they naturally
developed, but always advocate giving the
chronological order a go at least once.

With Phase 4 now well underway there's no

better time to get started. We've included all your
options so get that Marvel movie marathon binge
started now.

Captain America: The First Avenger is the Prst Plm in the

franchise's chronological order

Looking at the series in chronological order, it's

actually Captain America: The First Avenger that
is set earliest, taking place during the Second
World War where a skinny Steve Rogers is Lrst

The latest Llm entry in the chronological timeline

is Thor: Love and Thunder which was released in
2021 but due to the Endgame time jump, actually
takes place in the year 2026.

Some fans believe that this is the best way to

watch the MCU movies as elements are
introduced as the characters in the story
encounter them – for instance, this method
makes Nick Fury's InLnity War cameo more
satisfying, as viewers will already have the
context provided by Captain Marvel (released in
cinemas the following year).

However, there are other cases in which this is a

detriment, such as Ant-Man and the Wasp, which
is largely set before the events of InLnity War, but
its own post-credits scene spoils the ending to
the epic crossover movie.

The following list of Llms and TV series are based

on Disney+'s omcial viewing order.

Here are the Marvel movies in chronological

viewing order:

1. Captain America: The First Avenger

(1942)
2. Captain Marvel (1995)
3. Iron Man (2010)
4. Iron Man 2 (2011)
5. The Incredible Hulk (2011)
6. Thor (2011)
7. The Avengers (2012)
8. Thor: The Dark World (2013)
9. Iron Man 3 (2012)
10. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
(2014)
11. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
12. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
13. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
14. Ant-Man (2015)
15. Captain America: Civil War (2016)
16. Black Widow (2016, excluding post-
credits scene)
17. Black Panther (2016)
18. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2016)
19. Doctor Strange (2016-2017)
20. Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
21. Ant-Man and the Wasp (2017)
22. Avengers: In\nity War (2017)
23. Avengers: Endgame (2017-2022)
24. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten
Rings (2023)
25. Spider-Man: Far From Home (2023)
26. Eternals (2023, excluding _ashbacks)
27. Spider-Man: No Way Home (2024)
28. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of
Madness (2025)
29. Thor: Love and Thunder (2026)

The recently released Disney Plus shows both

take place after the events of Far From Home,
although they were released out of order. The
Falcon and the Winter Soldier was intended to be
the Lrst Marvel series to launch on the service
but su\ered a substantial delay due to Llming
interruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

All of these shows were set earlier than Eternals

until the shows from Hawkeye onwards.

Loki (after Endgame, but outside of the

main timeline – read more on Loki's
timeline)
WandaVision (2023)
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2023)
Hawkeye (2024)
Moon Knight (2025)
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law (2025)
Ms Marvel (2025)

Marvel's What If...? is set outside the main

timeline, as it takes place in various parallel
realities.

Marvel movies in order by

release date

Thor: Love and Thunder is the most recent Plm to be released in

cinemas

Marvel Studios

If the chronological order sounds a little too

confusing, there is also the option to simply
watch in release date order, which also neatly
categorises the MCU story into four distinct
"phases".

The Lrst three phases make up what is now

referred to as the InLnity Saga, beginning with
the introduction of the Avengers characters and
ending with the time-hopping mega-event that
was Avengers: Endgame.

Watching this method will send you on the same

journey that millions of Marvel fans all over the
world have enjoyed, allowing you to watch Lrst-
hand how the MCU grew from a fairly grounded
superhero pick to an all-out space opera.

It's true that watching this way will mean you see
some events outside of their in-universe order,
i.e. the origin of Captain America or the Lrst
meeting between Nick Fury and Captain Marvel,
but this doesn't cause any serious storytelling
problems.

In release date order, the MCU begins with

2008's Iron Man and continues all the way up to
