LESSON 1: KNOWING AND UNDERSTANDING ONESELF

What's In
1. Who am I as a person?
I am a person who is eager to learn and try new things in order to help me grow and
become a better person. I am kind to those who are kind to me. Moreover, as a person, I
respect someone’s opinions and views in life.
2. What makes me different from my friends and classmates?
My different life beliefs set me apart from them, besides that, I believe that I am unique
because of my personality in eagerness to learn in order to become a better person in the
future.
3. How do I react when someone backbites me or talks something bad about me?
I just ignore what they say and continue doing what I normally do, and I will do what
makes me happy as long as no one is trampled.
4. If a classmate tells me that I am good at nothing, how will I react? What will I tell him or
her?
Just ignore your classmate, do not let your classmate down you so he/she can go up.
Just make all the negative comments as your inspiration. Besides, it is not too late; you can
learn so many things and be good at them.
5. What are my weaknesses or vulnerabilities?
Some of my weaknesses are that in situations where calmness would be preferable, I
am prone to becoming irritable. I am overly reliant on technology and struggle when I cannot
access it. In addition, I am lazy when it comes to studying.
6. Do I fear losing something or someone in my life? Why?
Yes, it is very normal to fear losing someone. I fear losing something or someone in my
life because it is very hard to lose someone, especially if they give you many happy memories.
Losing someone in life is difficult. It feels like you are also losing yourself.
7. Do you know who your friends are? What do you have in common?
Yes, we have a commonality in certain things like those that we have a vibe that we
cannot explain to others.

What's New
1. Discuss what you understand about the quote and present your insight to your classmate
during the face-to-face or online activities with your teacher.
Knowing oneself is more important than knowing others or not having a clear identity. Knowing
who you truly are is always a far better reason than knowing yourself through the eyes of
others. Your identity is based on your own perspective and should never be influenced by what
other people think of you or what you want to be based on what you see from others.

"The cast of not following your heart is spending the rest of your life wishing you had."

This quotation emphasizes the importance of clearly identifying one's greatest dream or
desire in life and persisting in pursuing it until it is realized. Take the risk, as the saying goes,
because if you do not, you will regret not taking the shot when you had the chance. It is
preferable to try to fail than to regret not having tried. The only way to find out the outcome is
to try.
What’s New

MIDDLE ADOLESCENCE
For me, the most important event in my middle adolescence is when I found a group of
friends and someone who shared their support and love with me. I can really say that they are
the people that I would like to be with as I have fun, go on places, take care of our studies, and
reach my goals.

LATE ADOLESCENCE

In my late adolescence, I had many important experiences, including my first time

voting in the 2022 National Election. I also learned new things about the world, and I start to
take better care of my physical and especially mental health.

What I Have Learned.

1. In my perspective, we should know ourselves first than others. Therefore, u would know
what you like to do and what you like to be in the future. We would not discover the world if
we do not discover ourselves first.
2. The memories and feelings that surfaced while doing the activities in Lesson 2 are diverse
and mixed. My family and friends are the people who have helped shape me into the person I
am today.
3. The 3 different department stages of adolescence are:
Early Adolescence ( ages 9-13)- This early period of adolescence is a largely unstudied phase of
life, yet evidence suggests that this is an opportune time for communities to encourage the
development of positive health.
Middle Adolescence (ages 14-16)- Middle adolescence is the second stage and occurs from ages
14-16. By this time, puberty has passed. Teens in this stage are extremely concerned with how
they look, and they think others are concerned, too.

Late Adolescence (ages 17-19)- Late adolescence is the third and final stage, and it occurs from
ages 17-19. By this stage, adolescents have completed their physiological development,
although males may continue to grow taller. Late adolescents are not as concerned about their
bodies. Their sexual identity is clearer.

2. In a drawing below, label the three (3) major parts of the human body; the mind, the heart,
and the body by writing the persons/individuals responsible for its development.

3. Find a group you are comfortable working with. Interview at least three (3) teenagers and
ask them to describe the changes they have observed of their bodies, their beliefs and how
they think, how they socialize with peers and their major emotions.

Lesson 4: Coping with Stress in Middle and Late
Adolescence

What’s In

1. Our report presentations are the school activities that give me the most anxiety and worry
because they are hard and there are so many topics we need to research. To deal with this, I
arrange my topics to research them immediately and read them constantly to become
prepared.
2. Stress is an inevitable part of life. Even students encounter stress occasionally and in
different ways. It interferes with your capacity to focus, causes sleep problems, and elevates
despair or depression.
3. Mostly, in my opinion, the sources of stress in teenagers like me are concerned with school
matters, or anything pertaining to schools, such as difficult assignments and projects. In
addition, these days, teens are obsessed with a love life. Having a love like that, they poured
their hearts into their time and efforts.
4. Don’t overthink it. Just keep moving and accept everything that is coming. Do something that
will boost your system.

What’s New

1. She revealed that she finds it difficult to understand her lessons and did not make it to the
test because she was sad and hopeless. She just lost her mother, and she finds it difficult to
move on. She needs to take care of her four younger siblings and do the household chores.
2. I’ll talk to her in a private place and give her some motivational advice and tell her that if she
wants some help, I’ll help her immediately.

What’s More

1. Understanding the situation is how I advise or recommend dealing with stress. Spend some
time reflecting on your current situation. Attempt to summarize your product in one or two
sentences. Take care of yourself. When your life is stressful, you should take extra good care of
yourself.
2. I agree with Lou Holtz’s statement “It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you
carry it”.
Why so? Because it is normal for people to go through hardships and problems, it’s their
outlook that affects the outcome.
