1. When do all atomic bonds do the best?

Atom bonds do their best when they settle in the lowest stress situation as
possible

2. Why do atoms bond together anyway?

Atoms bond together because they want to reduce their energy, and bonding
allows they to do that

3. Explain the electrostatic force.

Electrostatic force is the attraction of electrons between atoms

4. What happens when protons get too close?

When the protons get to close, they repel each other

5. What is the bond length?

The bond length is the distance between two nuclei at the point of minimum
energy

6. What is electronegativity and what types of bonds does it create?

Electronegativity is the ability of an atom to attract shared electrons

7. Give an example of a polar and nonpolar covalent bond.

An example of a polar bond is water, and an example of nonpolar covalent bond is
2 hydrogen atoms, or hydrogen gas

8. What is the only type of bond that Coulomb's law applies to?
The only bond coulombs law applies to is ionic bonds

9. Give an example of an extremely polar bond.

An example of an extremely polar bond is NaCl, or table salt

10. Compare and contrast properties of ionic bonds and properties of covalent bonds.
Ionic bonds happen with metals and they are the transfer of electrons, while
covalent atoms are formed with non-metals and are the sharing of atoms
