OPERATIONAL PROCEDURE

Equipment Type Multi Tester/VOM

Equipment Code M.E No. 01
Location Practical Work Area
Operation Procedure:

1. Open the cover.

2. Pull out the test prods, (Red +, Black -)
3. Lay it down on the table and check the pointer, must exactly pointing 0
scale
3. Set the pointer to 0, by rotating the adjuster knob. (as needed)

Calibration:

1. Set the selector range to X1 Ohm (Ω) meter

2. Cross the test prods, negative and positive, the pointer will deflect to 0 Ω
on the upper right of the scale.
3. Adjust the pointer to exact 0 by rotating zero ohm adjuster knob.

Ohm Meter (Resistance/continuity check)

1. Set the selector switch to Ohm meter rage from X 1K Ohm (Ω) to X1 Ohm
(Ω).
2. Check the measurement on the uppermost of the scale. Measuring
resistance may vary on the resistivity of conductor such us wires and
components.
You may adjust the selector switch from X1000K Ohm to X1 Ohm.

Alternating Current (A.C.) Voltmeter

1. Set the selector switch to ACV range.

2. When measuring 110-220 volts, set the selector switch to 250 A.C.V
range.
3. Check the measurement on scale panel 0-250V
4. In measuring 10-50 volts, set the selector switch to 50 ACV range.
5. Check the measurement on scale panel 0-50V
6. In measuring 10 volts ACV and below, set the selector switch to 10 ACV

range.
7. Check the measurement on scale panel 0-10V

Direct Current (DC) Voltmeter

1. Set the selector switch to DCV range.

2. When measuring 250-1000 volts, set the selector switch to 1000 D.C.V
range.
3. Check the measurement on scale panel 0-250V multiplied 4.
4. In measuring 50-250 volts, set the selector switch to 250 DCV range.
5. Check the measurement on scale panel 0-250V
6. In measuring 10-50 Volts, set the selector switch to 50 DCV range.
7. Check the measurement on scale panel 0-50V
8. In measuring 2.5-10 volts, set the selector switch to 10 DCV range.
9. Check the measurement on scale panel 0-10V

Direct Current Ampere Meter

1. Set the selector switch to Direct Current Ampere meter range.

2. When measuring 2.5m and higher, set the selector switch to 2.5m range.
3. Check the measurement on scale panel 0-250 and move two decimal
point to the left.
5. In measuring 25 m, set the selector switch to 25 m range.
6. Check the measurement on scale panel 0-250, move 1 decimal point to
the left.
7. In measuring 0.25 m-25 m, set the selector switch to 25m range.
8. Check the measurement on scale panel 0-250, move 1 decimal point to
the left.
9. In measuring 0.25m-and below set the selector switch to 0.25m range.
10. Check the measurement on scale panel 0-250, move 3 decimal point to
the left.
11. After using the multi-tester, roll the test prods cord and put it back on
the case and cover it.
12. Return it back on the proper storage.
