Olympics center. Supporting facilities, restaurants, pro shops, boutiques, and family-oriented activities

Aquatics Center
Aquatic Center is the only exercise facility in northeast Indiana designed to include people with physical
disabilities. The facility includes fully accessible fitness equipment, exercise programs, a 230-meter
indoor track, and two warm-water therapeutic pools. Turnstone’s certified fitness staff works with each
member to create an individualized exercise plan to meet the member's fitness goals.  

Aquatic programs are for people ages 9 and up who meet Turnstone’s criteria for eligibility. Examples of
a qualifying medical history can include high cholesterol, obesity, physical inactivity, uncontrolled
diabetes, uncontrolled stress and depression, any diagnosed disability, loss of balance, moderate to
severe mobility limitations, family member or caregiver of a participating member, and Orthopedic or
neurological medical conditions.

Turnstone’s warm-water therapeutic pools are equipped with a chair lift, wheelchair ramp, handrails,
and an underwater bench with whirlpool jets. Maintained at 90 degrees, the pools offer a therapeutic
environment that promotes muscle relaxation. Water buoyancy allows freedom of movement.

The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs is the flagship training center for the
U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee and the Olympic & Paralympic Training Center programs. USA
Swimming and USA Shooting have their national headquarters in a complex.
Estimated Project Costs
Land and existing facilities, including the Crown Lake Special Events Center, have been purchased by the
Crown Lake SportsPlex founders at a cost in excess of $10 million. The estimated costs of the facilities
are shown in the following table.
