INTRODUCTION

Sivanesan (2017) defines online shopping as the act of buying and

selling items through the internet or as the process of buying goods directly from

a seller without the use of an intermediary. Customers can choose from a wide

range of goods and services while purchasing online, and they can compare those

choices with other offers.

Ever since the global pandemic which is Covid-19 affected the

Philippines, many people are not allowed to go outside of their houses especially

infants to 17 years old and people who are aged 60 and above. People who need

to go out to work and buy food and other things that they needed, need to wear

facemasks. Because of this the number of consumers buying online and the

amount of time people spend online has risen. It became popular and until now

many people are still buying online, it is a very convenient and time-saving

solution over traditional shopping. People also have the comfort of shopping from

home, reduced traveling and cost, and easy payment. There are so many online

shopping apps that people used which as Shoppee, Lazada, Tiktok, etc., these

three online apps are the most used by gen z and millennials based on the

observation of the researchers. This observation also wants to prove of the

researchers in this study.

In this research, the researcher decided to use senior high school

students as their main respondents. According to Statistica (2021) the majority

of online buyers in the philippines are from millennial and Gen Z age of

groups which also make up the majority of the nation's internet users. The

objective of this study is to know the most used online shopping app of senior

high school students and the impact of online shopping.
