Thank Rishav and Sirappa! Thank you very much. Thank you for the wonderful introduction.

Honorable Managing Director Mr. Ram Basnet sir, Honorable Principal Madam Sheetal Rana,
Administrative In-charge Mr. Niraj Bikram Rana sir, Vice principal Mr. Prashant Rajak sir,
MUN coordinator Mr. Govinda Gautam sir, all the respected teachers who burn themselves for
our bright future, my laborious dais panel, creative logistic team, press members and all my
active delegates, I’m elated. I’m overjoyed! At the same time, I am humbled by the honours you
have done for me. I am really happy to have an opportunity to lead the wonderful people in the
capacity of the Secretary. Gen of TES MUN 2017.

Dear all, we have learned to fly in the air like a bird and swim in the sea like a fish but we have
not learned the simple art of living together as brothers and sisters. Saving our planet, lifting
people out of poverty, advancing economic growth, and bringing smiles to everyone’s face are
all the same. It is important to learn that we are on the same flight. We live in a single world but
we are fragmented. God made us to preserve nature but we are destroying it. We are made by
god so that we can accompany each other but we are separated. Remember! We can overcome
our differences to make a greater whole.

At present we are living in a menacing world. There is the threat of war everywhere. The
monstrous war lurches at our doorsteps as China and India are staring at each other in anger. The
devilish war hangs over our heads when the US and North Korea blow the trumpet of hitting
each other with nukes. India and Pakistan display fiery exchanges time and again. When the
world powers like the US and China stretch their muscles, the threatening waves not only flurry
in the South China Sea but also in our hearts.

The problems do not end there. Hundreds of innocent people are pushed into the sea by human
traffickers just because they don’t want to be caught. Thousands of people are crushed by the
missiles just because a handful of people have differences in the way things are done. Millions of
people turn homeless just because some people want to stay in power a bit longer. Things have
been really tensed. The mournful cries of the people have made the beautiful world an ugly
place.

Besides, poverty, migration, food crisis, and environmental challenges are the immediate and
most crucial concerns for human beings at the moment. Moreover, we have our own problems in
our country. People have differences. There is need to have a common identity of all.

Today among our friends and fellow delegates will have heated debates on such crucial issues of
world affairs. We will try to dig out some likely solutions to these big issues hoping to have a
better world where you, me, our parents, our little brothers and sisters, have a good night sleep
without having to think of such annoying facts, where the creatures from single cell amoeba to
whales and elephant can feel secure to live, where being will not have to be dwarf because
someone does not want them to grow.
Dear all, on top of all this MUN session, is a great platform to express your thoughts. It’s all
about showing your skills, debating qualities, and about building up confidence. It’s like a never-
ending road trip. You will find many obstacles along the journey of your life but those who
overcome the obstacles eventually will lead their own way to be a special person.

The ideas we discuss here today are important for us. We will have to live along with the
problems we have discussed now. When we grow, I think the solution to these problems will be
with us at least once.

Besides all the MUN session is also a platform to share our experiences. My journey through the
MUN Sessions in last four years has made me more confident. I feel I have gained maturity.
From the days of being a small green girl working as a press member to an assertive MUN
General Secretary, I have walked a long way. Every moment counted. However, the exciting one
was the journey of Disec Committee last year. I even got a chance to participate in the RBSMUN
as a part of external exposure. Today I am working as Secretary General of TES MUN 2017.
Thank you school management for this opportunity.

For the new delegates, I would say it is the beginning, the beginning to make yourself to be
assertive, scholarly, and mature. For the dais, it is an opportunity to sharpen your leadership
skills. So, let’s join hands to take our steps towards this beginning. What to wait for when we
have our own legs to step further? It’s not time and place that decides the beginning of the
journey. We expect the delegates of the Legislature-Parliament to develop our nation. Delegates
of ECOFIN to solve the South China Sea Conflict. Delegates of HRC to implement Human
rights among the refugees in the Middle East. Delegates of UNEP to save energy. Delegates of
DISEC to prevent a world war. We have done enough for ourselves personally, now it’s time to
think about our common goals. Delegates, before you enter the committee don’t forget that you
are the representatives of a country. It’s not you or me it is us and our decision is what makes the
difference.

7 committees, 7 dais panels, one logistic team, and the press corps have combined their efforts to
make sure that The TES MUN will be fruitful in the best possible way. So, delegates, total
devotion, strict discipline, overwhelming enthusiasm, and high-quality knowledge are expected
from you to make this MUN session a great success. Welcome, everyone. The Secretary-General
warmly welcomes you all to this MUN session. Best of luck to all the delegates and dais panels!
Thank YOU!!
