1. The question paper consists of 16 questions. All questions are
compulsory
2. Section A contains Question number 1 which carries 28 objective type
questions of one marks each.
3. Section B contains Question numbers 2 to 8 which carry 2 marks each. There is
internal choice in three questions.
4. Section C contains Question numbers 9 to 14 which carry 3 marks each. There
is internal choice in three questions.
5. Section D contains Question number 15 and 16 which carry 5 marks each and
there is internal choice in each of these questions.

electrical circuits.
Q11. Explain how an atom behaves as magnetic dipole? Find an expression for

placed in combination. If the object is placed 40 cm away from the combination, find
the position of the image.
Q.14 What is rectifier? Explain working of junction diode as full wave
rectifier with suitable circuit diagram and input-output waveforms.

Q.15 State and prove Gauss’s theorem. Derive an expression for electric
field intensity due to uniformly charged hollow sphere at a point (i)
outside (ii)inside (iii) on the surface of the shell

What is a capacitor? Derive an expression for capacitance of a parallel
plate capacitor when a dielectric slab is partially inserted between the
plates of capacitor. What happens to capacitance if slab is fully inserted?

focal length of combination f is given by
1/f = 1/ f1 + 1/ f2
= 1/ 30 - 1/ 60 = 1/60
So f = 60 cm u = - 40 cm v=?
using lens eq. 1/v -1/u =1/f
1/v = 1/60 +(1/-40) = - 1/120
v = -120 cm
