List of Chemicals and their Antidotes

Sr. Chemicals Antidotes
1. Acid & Sulphur Oxide Sodium Hydro-Carbonate (4% Conc.), Milk, Lime Juice, Milk of Megnesia
2. Alkali Phosphates, Gloconate Solution (10%)
Ammonia (Intravenous Administer 5 ml)
Prednisolon (oral or Intravenous)
3. Ammonia Skin: Wash with Lactic Acid, Apply Soframycin
Eyes: Benoxynate (Novacin) 0.4% conc.
Throat : Smelling Ethanol or Ether
4. Asbestoses Dust Dust level should be minimise, use airline respirator, dust collector and
local ventilation.
5. Benzene Wash the skin area with plenty of water if affected. Remove to fresh air or
give Oxygen, 0.1 mg/kg slowly through injection. Rest in bed. Don’t apply
Epinefrin, Ifridin etc. Don’t apply milk, vegetable oil or alcohol.
6. Benzene, Xylene & Diazem – 1 mg/Kg.(Intravenous)
Toluene Epinephina, Efidrine
7. Benzene, Xylene, Wash the skin area plenty of water if affected. Fresh air or oxygen, 0.1
Toluene mg/kg slowly through injection rest in bed. Don’t apply Epinefrin, Ifridin etc.
Don’t apply milk, vegetable oil or alcohol.
8. Bleaching solution Milk, ice cream, eggs, milk of magnesia, aluminium hydroxide gel. Do not
give acid antidotes.
9. Bromine Wash the skin with plenty of water. Apply Sodium Bi Carbonate and again
wash the skin with plenty of water. If gone in eye, wash with plenty of water
through spray up to 15 minutes. Put two or three drops of Pontocane (0.5
solution) or Benoxinate (Novesine) 0.4 %. If problem in respiration, give
milk, butter-milk or lemon juice or make a small cotton ball and drench with
ethanol or ether solution drops and put it near victim’s nose for smell. Apply
pure oxygen. If goes in the intestine, give milk, milk butter and milk of
magnesia.
10. Carbon monoxide Pure oxygen through mask. 20% mennytole (1gm / kg) prednisolol 1 mg /
kg through injection.
11. Chlorine, Bromine, Wash the skin plenty of water. Apply sodium bi carbonate and again wash
Phosgene the skin plenty of water. If gone in eye, wash plenty of water through spray
up to 15 minutes. Put two or three drops of pontocane (0.5 solution) or
benoxinate (novesine) 0.4 %. If problem in respiration, give milk, butter-milk
or lemon juice or make a small cotton ball and drench with ethanol or ether
solution drops and put it near victim’s nose for smell. Apply pure oxygen. If
go in the intestine give milk, milk butter and milk of magnesia.
12. Di-Ethylene Glycol Ethanol, Calcium Gluconate.
13. Ethanol 2 gm sodium bi carbonate in 250 ml water. Diazepam 10 mg through
injection. If injury in eye or skin wash plenty of water.
14. Ethylene or Di- Ethanol, Calcium gluconate.

15. Formaldehyde Milk, Activated Charcoal or water

16. Formalin Ammonium chloride or Ammonium carbonate (3% solution)
17. Hydrogen sulphide, Put the patients at clean air or pure oxygen. Smelling the drops of Ether or
others sulphides and Ethanol. Amyl nitrite or Sodium Nitrite, pyridoxine 25 mg / kg or 10% Urea
Marcaptans. 1gram / kg through injection.
18. Magnesium salts Calcium gluconate 10% solution 1ml / kg through injection.
19. Manganese Calcium editate.
20. Marcaptans Put the patients at clean air or pure oxygen. Smelling the drops of Ether or
Ethanol. Amyl nitrite or Sodium Nitrite, pyridoxine 25 mg / kg or 10% Urea
1gram / kg through injection.
21. Mercury Unithole (Bal Dymer Krepol 5% solution), Tetasin Calcium (10% solution),
Penicilamine Dextrose 10% though injection. If effect of mercury chelating
agent)
22. Methanol Ethanol (30% solution through oral, 5% solution through injection), epicake
syrup, if Acidosis than Sodium bicarbonate, if effect of delirium than give 10
mg diazepam through injection.
23. Nicotine Do vomiting, Etropin (full dose), if problem in respiration give pure oxygen.
24. Nitro-Benzene Mitholene Blu – 1%, Excartric Acid – 5%
25. Phenol and derivatives Take the patient in clean air, activated charcoal and 240 ml milk, if the eye
or skin affected than wash with plenty of water, clean the skin with poly
ethylene glycol.
26. Phosgene Three times 1 mg / kg kotirsone acetate through oral. If respiration problem
give pure oxygen.
27. Phosphorus Calcium Gluconate 10% 10 ml through injection, 5% Glucose in water,
Travesty (10% invert sugar) through injection.
28. Phosphorus, phosgene Calcium gluconate 10% 10 ml through injection, 5% glucose in water,
and phosphide travesty (10% invert sugar) through injection.
29. Potassium Hot milk, methelene blue (1% solution), ascorbic acid (5% solution)
permanganate

31. Tobacco Do vomiting, Etropin (full dose), if problem in respiration give pure oxygen.
32. Tobacco and nicotine Do vomiting, Etropin (full dose), if problem in respiration give pure oxygen.
33. Toluene Diazem – 1 mg/Kg.(Intravenous), Epinephina, Efidrine
34. Toluene Wash the skin area with plenty of water if affected. Remove to fresh air or
give oxygen, 0.1 mg/kg slowly through injection. Rest in bed. Don’t apply
Epinefrin, Ifridin etc. Don’t apply milk, vegetable oil or alcohol.

35. Xylene Diazem – 1 mg/Kg.(Intravenous), Epinephina, Efidrine

36. Zinc fumes and metal Prednison, aspirin and bad rest.
