Professional competence.

Possessing professional engineering competencies from the University of Mindanao is critical and
highly valued by potential employers. It is my responsibility to build relationships with everyone
involved in our endeavor in the future. Participation is essential due to the nature of this profession.
To smoothly implement our gifts, we must practice them in a highly methodical manner. As part of
our educational curriculum, we must demonstrate that we have the knowledge and skills to
successfully execute several tasks. Problem-solving, communication skills, work ethics, and
leadership are all examples of professional competence.

Critical Thinking and Problem-solving skills.

For engineering students and prospective engineers, the ability to think critically and solve issues
effectively is a must. This is because I am well aware that the work we do necessitates precision and
integrity, action clarity, practical thinking, decision-making, professionalism, and systematization.

Communication skills.

I am aware that great communication skills are essential for a career as a civil engineer because
they are an inherent component of the engineering design process and thus critical for presenting
both ideas and designs. Engineers who can cooperate efficiently and productively can confidently
deliver fresh ideas to decision-makers through seminars, presentations, analyses, or reports.

Lifelong learning.

You should not stop learning after acquiring your bachelor's degree. Learning is a lifetime endeavor,
and discovery is a never-ending occurrence. It will allow you to keep moving forward on your path to
success. If you choose to continue working, you will be needed to learn new things throughout your
life. As a result, education should continue after students leave school. Lifelong learning can help
with both personal development and professional advancement. It will also aid in the development of
your skills and the promotion of your career.

Social and ethical responsibility.

Engineers have a social and ethical commitment to ensure public safety and sustainability, in
addition to ensuring human well-being; thus, society has faith in them. As a result, failing to
undertake these duties could result in serious injury or even death. Civil engineers must complete
their jobs in order to create infrastructure that is resistant to natural disasters.

Productivity.

It is critical that the construction industry boost its productivity. It is critical to maintain a high level of
productivity at work in order to complete a project on time and within budget. It is critical to monitor
labor force performance using a productivity indicator, especially when working on a construction
project. To control the amount of work performed and ensure that everyone is working as intended.\

Interpersonal Skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills, which are essential in engineering, are required for you to build your
personal brand, articulate your values, and handle crisis communication. Engineers must have
strong interpersonal skills in order to resolve conflicts between their coworkers, which may be
stopping them from finishing a crucial project.

Digital literacy skills.

The twenty-first century has already begun. We are accustomed to using technology and the internet
in today's world to offer projects and reports. Researching innovative techniques or concepts to use
in the classroom is actually quite helpful to us. There are many various kinds of literacy abilities, and
they can all be helpful and useful in the classroom.

The university's 4Gs program is intended to help students figure out what it is they want to
accomplish in life. By reflecting on these crucial ideas, students can better prepare for life after
school. Because each of these elements significantly influences how much success a person has,
participation in a civil engineering program that promotes quality, honesty and integrity, teamwork,
and creative thought is vital. These concepts apply to my life in a variety of situations, including both
my academic and personal lives.
