The maximum attainable capacity/h as well as the minimum attainable leakage rate are, to a large extent,
dependent on the article. The mentioned values are attainable in case of “normal” products under best
testing conditions, i.e. solid, closely guided articles without inner neck control and max.
30 °C. In case of “sensitive” articles and/or unfavourable testing conditions they can vary considerably.

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
The articles to be tested are taken over from the blow moulding machine to the feeding conveyor of the
leak tester and transported to the testing station. There they are positioned under the test head, locked
with the sealing cylinder and filled with compressed air up to the preset test pressure.

After that the compensation phase follows during which variation of air pressure, differences in
temperature as well as expansions of the article are compensated.
Then the measuring time begins. During the measuring phase a given hysteresis value is compared with
the value of the pressure drop in the article.
If the pressure drop falls below the hysteresis value, the tested article is „FAULTY“. If the drop in pressure
remains above the hysteresis value the article is regarded as tight (GOOD production).
The testing results are indicated by means of green (tight) and red (leaky) lights at the door of the switch
cabinet. The FLAWLESS and FAULTY articles are counted.
The leak simulator (LS) checks the correct function of the leak testing equipment.

SUPPLEMENT TO OFFER
Requirements for a flawless operation of leak testers and collecting stations

The articles (bottles, containers, drums etc.) have to reach the conveyor of the leak tester or of the
collecting station in a clean, scrap-free, constant, orientated and transportable condition. The articles
must not stick together nor must they push off each other because of static charge. Articles with
indifferent balance or shape which cannot be oriented need additional support and positioning
precautions. In this case pre-tests should be made with corresponding samples.
Detectable leakage and capacity

Physical conditions determine the process of the cycle. The values about the smallest detectable leak
diameter (respectively emerging air within a certain period of time), which were found out by pilot tests
and the coordinated capacity per hour correspond in each case to well-tempered, well-weighed and
identical-in-shape articles. External influences like temperature fluctuations, variations in weight and
shape can lead to different results.
Weighing
During the operation of integrated or separate working weighing equipment the operator has to make sure
that outer influences like draft, vibrations and static charge etc. are avoided. Otherwise, there is no
guarantee on the proper function of the weighing equipment.
Technical Changes
In case you modify the articles or the conception of the leak tester / collecting station within the option
time or after having placed the order and thus causing changes to the primary outline, we will inform you
about additional charges with a subsequent offer.
Documentation
If copyable and foreign-language documentation is desired, they can be required at extra cost.
Installation and Operation

Our leak testers and collecting tables are usually delivered ex works in a complete and ready state.
However, should you need our help for installation or putting into operation (possibly for adaptation or
integration into manufacturing plants) our technical personnel will be at your assistance against charges
according to our General Conditions of Installation. Please take important technical data from the
quotation, respectively the enclosed specification (in case of standard leak testers).
Passwords
Our machines are in key functional areas password protected. For copyright reasons, a password-sharing
is not possible.
Reserve Title
All objects supplied by us remain our property until all of our claims have been settled, for any legal
grounds whatsoever.
