Most excited about: "Being outside on the field every Tuesday
and Thursday. I can't wait to get to know our players and help
them grow to love the game!"

WEST METRO SOFTBALL

Fun Fact: Jessie and Allison founded and operate the Golden Valley women's softball league
(now known as West Metro Softball). The league's inception in 2015 was inspired by their
experiences in GVGS! All three of us continue to play each summer.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
FROM YOUR COACHES
Communication:
We will communicate early and often
regarding team news and updates. We
will use email primarily!
Positivity and Encouragement:
Our coaching style is centered on
growth, building confidence, and
having fun together.
Skill Development:
We plan to hone each players' skills,
build sound mechanics, and teach
elevated strategy. Every player has a
job on every play!
Fairness:
Conscientious creation of lineups and
shared fielding and bench time.
COMMITMENT &
ABSENCES
Each player has made a
commitment to their teammates
this summer! We look forward to
your players attendance at every
game.
Excused absences include illness
and planned family vacations.
Vacations need to be reported at
the beginning of the season. Illness
to be reported as soon as possible.
Unexcused absences include
spontaneous trips, social events,
and work (unless cleared
beforehand). We have flexibility,
please just communicate with us!

GAME NIGHTS &
PRACTICES
Games are Tuesdays and Thursdays at
6:00pm or 7:20pm
Warm ups: Players to arrive 30 minutes
prior to each game. Coaches will arrive
45 minutes ahead of time, look for our
jerseys!
In-Season Practice will be held every
other Monday evening. These are highly
encouraged as this is where the girls will
grow as players. Practice schedule
included in newsletter.
Equipment:
Glove (required)
Infield mask (required for pitchers,
recommended for infielders)
Cleats (highly recommended, plastic
only - no metal cleats)
Bat (recommended - must be
aluminum & USSSA certified)
Water Bottle (recommended)
Sliding equipment: softball pants,
sliding shorts and/or sliding pad
(recommended)
Batting Gloves (player discretion)

DON'T FORGET TO PRACTICE AT HOME!

PLAYER AND PARENT
CONDUCT
"The game is for the girls"
Teammates: Encourage, support, and
build up your teammates -always!
Mistakes will happen, and we will rise
together each time.
Opponents: It is okay to want to win
(we want that too!) but we treat
everyone with respect. If we don't have
anything nice to say, we say nothing at
all.
Umpires: The umpire's call is the final
call. Players and spectators will not
argue with an umpire at any time. If
there are any questions about calls or
rules, please communicate them with
Allison and Jessie who will address
concerns with the umpire.
Dugouts: 4 person limit, parents must
be 12 feet from dugouts. Thanks for
understanding!
PARENT VOLUNTEERS
If you are interested in helping
during games or practices,
please let us know! We'd love to
have you.
We will be looking for practice
support on Mondays, help with
sanitization and covid protocols
during games, and more. Join us!

COVID-19 RULES
1. Everyone wears a mask
2. Players must maintain 6 feet
between one another
3. Spectators must maintain 12 feet
between themselves and players
4. Dugouts limited to 4 people
5. No group huddles, high fives,
handshakes or hugs
6. Bleachers are for player use only, no
spectators
7. Players are encouraged to have their
own equipment (bats, etc.)
8 .No sunflower seeds or food
9. Warming houses will be closed
10. Do not come to the field if you are
experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms
(fever, chills, cough, body aches, etc.)
Any player or coach who has tested
positive or has had exposure to
COVID-19 must contact Mark
Chamberlain, GVGS Registration
