It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation on behalf of Ms. Kaitlyn King. I have known Kaitlyn for
over twenty years in many roles including family friend, student, and cheerleader coach. I had the pleasure of
serving as principal and superintendent when Kaitlyn was a cheerleading coach in Waterloo Local Schools.
Prior to that, at a young age, I would often interact with her during her many years at my wife’s dance studio,
where Kaitlyn was a long-time student. I would often talk about this hard-working, charismatic, fun-loving
young lady named Kaitlyn. Over the years, I had the chance to interact with Kaitlyn and her family. I was
always impressed by the level of integrity she displayed. Her work ethic was unparalleled with her peers.

Ms. King embodies the rare combination of intelligence and a winning personality that allows her to connect
with people. I view education as a calling and I could tell at a young age that Kaitlyn had a passion for working
with students. You can imagine my joy when she shared, she was becoming a teacher and ended up teaching in
the district where I attended elementary school. Kaitlyn is a rare person who goes beyond what is expected on
her own initiative.

In addition to the superintendency, I am an adjunct faculty member teaching in a principal preparation Master’s
program. As I work with future principal leaders, it is rare for one to jump out as having an innate gift for
leadership. I have seen those gifts inherently present in Kaitlyn for as long as I have known her. She is
destined for leadership and it brings me much joy to write this letter on Kaitlyn’s behalf. It is without hesitation
that I recommend her for her next step in the educational journey as an administrator. It has been a true
pleasure watching her grow into the person she is today. I consider myself blessed to have been a small part of
her journey in the past, present, and hopefully in the future. Kaitlyn will succeed in any endeavor because she
is willing to give 100% effort.
