“EFFECTIVENESS OF CHRYSANTHEMUM BASED REPELLENT
AGAINST DIFFERENT ANOPHELES SPECIES”

Rationale of the Study

Because chrysanthemum is a component widely employed as a natural insect repellent,

chrysanthemum-based repellent is significant and a secure insect deterrent. In particular,

chrysanthemum contain pyrethrum, which is utilized to make a potent insecticide from the

blooms of the plant. An effective insect repellent can be found in the oil that is produced from

this plant. Insecticides made from pyrethrum are among the most effective plant-based

treatments for insects that bite people and animals as well as those that harm plants. Many people

looking for non-synthetic substances turn to this because of its origins as a potent substitute.

Pyrethrum is so frequently utilized as the main component in mosquito misting systems. The

most effective technique to prevent mosquito bites and control mosquito populations is to use

misting systems.
“ANXIETY DURING HYFLEX”

Rationale of the Study

We choose this topic because based on our experience, social isolation coupled with a

lack of communication often leads to several mental health issues such as heightened stress,

anxiety, and negative thoughts. The physical distance between students and teachers due to the

online environment has made it difficult for us students to be able you connect with our teachers.

When online it is much harder to show our teachers exactly what we are struggling to learn.

Some of the online learning challenges faced by students are adaptability, technical issues,

computer knowledge, distraction, and self-motivation. This issue is highly significant for us

learners, and the introduction of a new mode of learning has stunned every student. We aim to

impart knowledge and understanding about how the hyflex learning modality has influenced

learners and how we might manage with anxiety, as well as to provide strategies for developing

mental stability. Present study aimed to find out the anxiety factors among students of distance

learning of Allama lgbal Open University. The sample of the study comprised of 322 students of

M.Ed. programme selected by using purposive sampling technique. The study was descriptive in

nature. Questionnaire was used as the research instrument which was based on five point Likert

scale. Mean score and t-test was applied by using SPSS version 21. The results highlighted that

factors, like lacunae in admission process, books distribution, assignment, course tutorials and

student support services were found to created anxiety among the student of AIOU. The overall

mean values for all factors of anxiety were slightly higher in male students as compared to

female students. A significant effects of anxiety on the academic performance of distance

learners was found. Present research found a significant effect of anxiety on the academic

performance among distance learning students of AIOU. It is recommended that University may
support students in managing their academic anxiety through counseling and behavioral

techniques.
“ANTIMICROBIAL PROPERTIES OF TURMERIC”

Rationale of the Study

This study aims to show awareness to the Liceo Senior High School that Turmeric has

antimicrobial properties that can be used. So we as a group, decided that we are going to be

choosing this particular topic because we are curious and we wanted to know what antimicrobial

properties the turmeric has. Turmeric has a compound which is called curcumin which gives its

characteristic a bright yellow hue and it also has antimicrobial properties. Curcumin is s plant-

derived polyphenolic active substance with broad-spectrum antimicrobial properties. It is also

known to have strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and antifungal. Curcumin

can also be used to relieve symptoms of various gastrointestinal disease, such as diarrhea,

indigestion, efflux, and also gastric and duodenal ulcers. The objective of this study is to assess

the antimicrobial efficacy of curcumin against various strains of bacteria and yeast-like fungi.

Studying this topic regarding the antimicrobial properties of turmeric will be beneficial to

everyone because we will be able to solve one of the major issues in the food industry which is

cross-contamination.
