DepEd aims to holistically develop Filipino learners with 21st century skills whose
values and competencies enable them to realize their full potential and contribute
meaningfully to building the nation.
OER is a declaration influenced by Article 26 of the United Nations Universal
Declaration on Human Rights which says that “Everyone has the right to education,”
and Article 13.1 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural
Rights which “recognize the right of everyone to education.”
The DepEd Open Educational Resources (OER) is an innovative pathway to connect
the disconnected schools with its prime role to support the requirements of the K-12
Curriculum. It focuses on the ICT Assisted Teaching and ICT Assisted Learning
whereas the customization of localized materials is made possible to deliver quality,
accessible, relevant and liberating education for all even for schools without strong
internet facilities. The OERs are designed in such a way to cater the needs for
interactivity, digitization and delivery of 21st Century Skills to make learners future
ready. This is the beginning of revolutionizing education in the Philippines to teach
minds, touch hearts and transform lives of learners. Welcome to the new era of
learning. This is Digital Rise.
Philippines has now started. Training is now ongoing among public school teachers
on the use of OERs as a tool in the teaching and learning process. The City Schools
Division of Antipolo City, through its ICT unit, conducted a division-wide training
workshop on OER utilization with school ICT coordinators as participants. It is
expected that such orientation/training will be cascaded down to the school level.
Hence, this school will be conducting ICT Training Workshop for Teachers
on the use of Open Educational Resources (OER) to be held on July 17, 2020 using
the platform Google Meet.
All the teachers of Taguete Elementary School are contributing factor and
responsible in the use of OER. They are the participants in this training-workshop.
At the end of the training/workshop the participants are expected to achieve the following
objectives ;
Participants can used and access high quality education and skills development of 21st century
teachers.
Training/ Workshop will be run through 4A’s. Participants will be given activity from the training.
