SUBJECT: SCHOOL LEARNING ACTION CELL (SLAC) ON ICT INTEGRATION IN INSTRUCTION AND
ASSESSMENT

In line with the implementation of Republic Act No. 10533, or the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013,
the Department of Education (DepEd) issues the enclosed policy on The Learning Action Cell (LAC) as a K to
12 Basic Education Program School-Based Continuing Professional Development Strategy for the
Improvement of Teaching and Learning. Through this policy, the DepEd fully supports the continuing
professional development of its teaching personnel based on the principle of lifelong learning and the view of
the teaching profession as one that “requires teachers expert knowledge and specialized skills, acquired and
maintained through rigorous and continuing study” (UNESCO 1966).

In adherence to these guidelines, Muntindilaw Elementary School will conduct a School Learning Action Cell
(SLAC) for School Year 2019-2020 on November 18, 2019 at 1:00 in the ICT Room.

2. The purposes of School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) are as follows:

a. To strengthen competence of 43 or 100% of the teachers through continuous professional development.


b. To keep teachers abreast of new knowledge in integrating ICT in instruction and assessment.

c.. To give the much needed support to the teachers who are entering a responsibility or a new field of
work especially the new teachers.

3. Participants to this training are all teachers of MDES and the school head.

4. Attached are the different Committee, List of Training Staff and Facilitators, Training Matrix, and Program of
Work for reference purposes.

5. For the information, guidance and compliance of all concerned.

6. Widest dissemination of this Memorandum is earnestly desired.

ASSESSMENT

I. RATIONALE

Pursuant to Republic Act (RA) 9155 also known as “Governance of Basic Education Act of 2001”, an act
instituting a framework of governance for basic education, establishing authority and accountability, renaming
the department of education, culture and sports as the department of education and for other purposes states,
“The role of the school is to provide the best possible basic education for all the learners”.

In Adherence to this Republic Act and to promote quality basic education, Muntindilaw Elementary School
will conduct School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) for School Year 2019-2020 on November 18, 2019 at 1:00 in
the afternoon in the ICT Room to all teaching personnel. This is to help teachers improve the teaching-
learning process that will lead to improve learning among the pupils, to nurture successful teachers, and to
enable teachers to support each other to continuously improve their content and pedagogical knowledge,
practice, skills and attitudes.

II. PROGRAM LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Terminal Objective:

At the end of the training, the participants will be able to integrate ICT in the teaching learning process.

Enabling Objectives:

At the end of the session, teachers will be able to:


 Enrich lessons with simple integration strategies utilizing Information and Communication
Technology (ICT).
