The Nature Conservancy


The Nature Conservancy is a leading conservation organization working
around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for
nature and people.
Founded in 1951, The Nature Conservancy has over one million
members globally as of 2021,and has protected more than
119,000,000 acres(48,000,000 ha) of land in its history. As of 2014, it is
the largest environmental non-profit organization by assets and revenue
in the Americas.
The Save the Children
The Save the Children Fund.Commonly known as Save the Children, is an international non-
governmental organization established in the United Kingdom in 1919 to improve the lives
of children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities, as well as
providing emergency aid in natural disasters, war, and other conflicts. After passing a
century, which it celebrated in 2019, it is now a global movement made up of 30 national
member organizations that work in 120 countries .

In the mid 1960s, during rehabilitation in Phoenix, Arizona after a
paralyzing injury, John Van Hengel began volunteering at a local
soup kitchen. He solicited food donations and ended up with far
more food than the kitchen could use. Around this time, one of the
clients told him that she regularly fed her children with discarded
items from a grocery store garbage dumpster. She told him that the
food quality was fine, but that there should be a place where
unwanted food could be deposited and later withdrawn by people
who needed it, like a bank.

The World Wide Fund for Nature Inc. (WWF) is a Swiss-
based international non-governmental organization founded in 1961 that
works in the field of wilderness preservation and the reduction of human
impact on the environment.[4] It was formerly named the World Wildlife
Fund, which remains its official name in Canada and the United States.
WWF is the world's largest conservation organization, with over five
million supporters worldwide, working in more than 100 countries and
supporting around 3,000 conservation and environmental
projects.[5] They have invested over $1 billion in more than 12,000
conservation initiatives since 1995.[6] WWF is a foundation with 65% of
funding from individuals and bequests, 17%government sources (such as
the World Bank, DFID, and 8% from corporations in 2020.
