How did this become important in German Gymnastics?

Johann Basedow established gymnastics as a premier sport in Germany by


including physical exercises and other instructions in his school's curriculum. He also
advocated the use of realistic methods and the instruction of nature study, physical
education, and manual training in the schools and called for an end to physical
punishment. Because of these factors, the Germanic countries are considered or
trusted as being at the forefront of gymnastics.

2. Differentiate Gymnastics as a sport and as a physical activity.


Gymnastics as a sport helps people attain or enhance their agility,
flexibility, strength, body control, coordination, and other athletic qualities while
having fun and also extending happiness to the audience. While gymnastics as a
physical activity helps strengthen a person’s physical well-being, it also aims to
provide additional cognitive and psychological benefits and improve overall
fitness.
3. What could happen to an athlete who does not undergo conditioning program
first?

An athlete who does not undergo conditioning program first will most likely to
experience injury, sprain, fatigue, or physical transcendence. An athlete who does
not first go through a conditioning program is more likely to sustain an injury, sprain,
fatigue, or physical transcendence.

4. Why do you think stunts should be learned first before tumbling?

I think stunts should be learned first before tumbling, for through learning
different stunts, we also learn and attain different skills and techniques. Learning it
first before tumbling reduces the likelihood of injuries, damages, or other
complications. 

5. Which do you think is easier: performing with the heavy or light apparatus?

For me, it is easier to perform with a light apparatus. Unlike heavy apparatus
that greatly needs force, strength, and energy, light apparatus is so light that you just
need to learn the different techniques, abilities, and skills that are needed in order to
use it and perform with it effectively.
