V. AREAS OF CONSIDERATION
Strengths
● Analyn is a qualified and experienced special education
teacher with expertise in childcare.
● Benefits from its institutional partners, such as PLDT, the
Philippine Stock Exchange, Citibank, HSBC, and BPI
Commercial Bank, would be provided to the employees’
children in the form of daycare.
● Provide referrals obtained through word-of-mouth from satisfied
customers.
● The Mama Bear facility is a “Child on Cam” that provides
parents with the high-tech child care services they acquire.
● The company offers customized services for affordable prices.
● The growth of operations continues.
● The atmosphere in the child care center is one of comfort and
safety.
● Lease another condominium unit of Mylene in Makati City as
an additional venue.
● Paid off their original loans and have improved their cash flow
position.
● The company through a Memorandum of Agreement has tied
up with St. Luke’s Hospital - Fort Bonifacio, for emergency cases,
Globe Telecom for their on-line day care and SM Superstore for
the supplies requirements.

Weaknesses
● Concerning employee welfare, mostly contractual workers are
not given overtime pay and meal allowance that has been
criticized by a radio broadcaster.
● Conflict occurred as a result of each partner’s various
perspectives.
● Mylene, as the managing partner, has a tendency to over
manage the business.

Opportunities
● A lot of companies cooperate with Mama Bear Childcare.
● Some areas in Makati business district have no day care
centers.
● 59% of the total workforce are female typically handling
caregiving and 25% male that are also involved with childcare
arrangements.
● Partnership has greater capacity to borrow money from the
bank.
● As of 2004, 60% of mothers from both single and two-parent
households were working, and it is continuously growing.
● Most parents refer to Mama Bear Childcare for they are
satisfied with the service it provides.
● The fact that people are drowning in using high technologies
for their benefits.

Threats

● Imitators or copycats continue to grow.
● Some families continue to play the traditional role of full-time
mother and homemaker.
● Technological innovation is inevitable and that costs a lot.
● Some news about lawsuits for alleged cases of neglect or
abuse.

that can accommodate 50 children aged 5-12 years old.
