PRACTICE TASK 2

STAND/POSITION- Yes, I believe that commenting on his/her post right away to correct him/her is
the right thing to do.

EXPLANATION- Sharing fake news can affect a lot of people in social media. They might believe that
that post you've shared is true.

EVIDENCE- According to Wardle and Derakhshan (2017), the spread of fake news on the internet is
a cause of great concern for all members pf society, including the government, policymakers,
organizations, businesses and citizens. Fake news is specifically designed to plant a seed of mistrust
and exacerbate the existing social and cultural dynamics by misusing political, regional and religious
undercurrents.

CONCLUSION- Therefore, spreading fake news in any forms of social media can cause damaging
consequences to anyone. We should not share or spread any news that we are not sure about, and
if we have no evidence, proofs, etc. We should also correct correct those people spreading fake
news.

PRACTICE TASK 3

1. Social media made society toxic.

STAND- Yes, I believe that social media made our society toxic.
ARGUMENT- Social media can be very influential in many negative ways making our society
toxic.
EVIDENCE- Multiple studies have found a strong link between heavy social media and an
increased risk for depression, anxiety, loneliness, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts.
2. On leadership, what should matter most, people or results?

STAND- I believe that people should matter the most on leadership.

ARGUMENT- Leadership is nothing without its people, there is no leader without followers.

EVIDENCE- According to Michael McKinney, “Followership, like leadership, is a role and not a
destination.” Without followers, there can be no leaders. The leader is the person in the group
who has decided on the direction and destination and has inspired, convinced and motivated the
others to follow. Followers agree to be led and thus give credibility to leadership.

EVALUATION

TOPIC: As a teenager, you should always be at home before 6pm.

THESIS STATEMENT: It is not unnecessary that because you are a teenager, you should always be at
home before 6pm.

I. INTRODUCTION

Being a teenager, we are supposed to follow what our parents and other adults say. We should
not ignore what they say and they want us to do as it will make us disrespectful. As teenagers, one
thing that we should follow is that we should always be at home on or before 6pm. Whenever I went
outside and went home later than 6pm, I got scolded by my parent and my older siblings. They always
think that I only think of myself. And for me, it feels like they always have trust issues on me. My point
is that, not because I stay late outside or went home later than 6pm, I did something beyond my
limitations.

II.FIRST ARGUMENT: Being at home before 6pm.is not always necessary for me because sometimes I
have to do my schoolworks together with my classmates outside.

A. SUPPORTING DETAILS

1. There are individual tasks sometimes that I cannot do alone and I needed some help and no
one at home will, so I have to do it with my close friends or classmates.
2. There are group outputs wherein we needed to meet up on someone's house or somewhere
after school that's why I end up going home late.

III. SECOND ARGUMENT: Being at home before 6pm is not always necessary because sometimes I also
want to experience what other teenagers do outside.

A. SUPPORTING DETAILS
1. There are times that school works and household chores are so stressful that is why I
needed some break and go outside with friends to enjoy without thinking of those things and
with the curfew.
2. As a teenager, I also want to enjoy going out with friends sometimes, be happy with them
and do things we might not do we reach the adult stage.

IV. CONCLUSION: Teenagers need to experience a lot of things outside. Parents should let their
childrend learn from their experiences and mistakes not just at home but also outside the house.
Teenagers needed their parents' trust and guidance. Not just because they are teenagers, it is not
necessary for them to be at home before 6pm.
