28 Given below are some examples of wave motion. State in each case 3
if the wave motion is transverse, longitudinal or a combination of both:
(a) Motion of a kink in a longitudinal spring produced by displacing
one end of the spring sideways.
(b) Waves produced in a cylinder containing a liquid by moving its
piston back and forth.
(c) Waves produced by a motorboat sailing in water.

Two moles of ideal helium gas are in rubber balloon at 30𝆩C. The
temperature of the gas in the balloon is slowly changed to 35𝆩C .What
is the amount of heat required in raising the temperature ? (Take
R=8.31JK−1mol−1)

A door is a rigid body which can rotate about a fixed vertical axis
passing through the hinges. What makes the door rotate? It is
clear that unless a force is applied the door does not rotate. But
any force does not do the job. A force applied to the hinge line
cannot produce any rotation at all, whereas a force of given
magnitude applied at right angles to the door at its outer edge is
most effective in producing rotation. It is not the force alone, but
how and where the force is applied is important in rotational
motion.
