SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE

NOMINAL
Simple present tense

Simple present tense terbagi menjadi dua (2) yaitu:


1.Simple present tense verbal
2.Simple present tense nominal

Now, we are going to study about Simple Present Tense


Nominal.

Sekarang, Kita akan memepelajari tentang Simple Present Tense


Nominal.

We have to use to be (am, is, are) in this tense. For example:


Hello, I am a cow.
My name is Coco.
From the example:

“am” disebut sebagai to be. Susunannya seperti


berikut:

I am a cow .
Subject + to be + O (noun)

My name is
Coco.
Subject + to be + O

Other examples:
Contoh lain nya:

These are oranges and lemons

Orange is sweet.
Subject + to be + O (adjective)
Today is Friday.
Today = Subject

Friday = Adverb of time

So, from the examples you can see the formula for
Simple Present Tense Nominal.
The formula for positive/ affirmative sentence is:

1) In general: infinitive + s

2) Verbs ending in – y

3) Verbs ending in –o, sh, tch, x, ss + es

I watch → he watches I fix → he fixes
I kiss → he kisses
USES
To talk about activities we usually do:
I go to school every day
Time references:
Every day, week, month, year…
On Sundays, at weekend, in summer…
She studies French in the afternoon
Adverbs of frequency are often used:
