Importance of thermal insulation in buildings
1- Reducing the heating cost.

2- Creating the condition of thermal comfort.

3- Avoiding condensation to take place on building elements.

4- Protection of the building elements envelope from intense thermal stress.

5- Reduced cost for heating or air conditioning.

6- Sound insulation achieved when using fibrous insulation material.

7- Environmental protection.

8- Structural importance for the building.

In Egypt, concerning the specifications of thermal insulation works (902-13) which
was published by National Center for Housing and Construction Research in 1998,
design and construction of buildings especially in the south of Egypt should take
into consideration the effect of heat and working on making thermal insulation
for the buildings, as the temperature in shadow reaches 40 o C in these places, so
it’s recommended to make thermal insulation to make these buildings
comfortable, energy-saving, protect the buildings from moisture and other
climate conditions, and finally reducing noise and vibration.

Lightweight Concrete Technology
Cellular Concrete below Basement Slab
Roof Surface with Cellular Concrete as levelling layer
As a result of the simulation in the four cases the best result
in the case of the ceiling, is the use of the double roof,
including a 20-cm insulator without using an insulating
material. The best thermal insulation in the case of the walls
is using of single-wall thermally insulated by polyurethane
board thickness of 7 cm
