Digital audio signal based on lossy compression that eliminates some of the
information and make it sound similar at the original sound.

 AAX (Avid Audio eXtension)

Plug-in made by AVID as the replacement of old format plug-ins. This one can use
all of the ram memory.

sound.

 Acoustics
The branch in physics that is focused on studying the properties of the sound and
their behavior in different surroundings.

 Additive Synthesis
In light of Fourier theory, the timbre of a musical instrument can be considered to
consist of various harmonics or inharmonic or inversions.

 ADSR – (Stands for Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release)

Applies to any sound, regardless of the source. ADSR controls are typically found
on VSTs themselves, on different hardware and samplers. is the Attack, Decay,
Sustain and Release of a sound. Together they form the ADSR envelope. An
ADSR envelope determines how a sound evolves over time.

 Aftertouch
The aftertouch is a midi controller, you can assign different functions to it, it is

electronic sounds and you can program or delete it to your liking.

 AIFF
Is an audio format standard used to store sound data in computers.
 Aliasing
If you record audio at too low a sample rate, a type of sampling error called
aliasing can occur. With regard to audio, aliasing is defined as a signal frequency
that is wrong, which can introduce distortion or other artifacts in the recording and
that can become annoying.

 Ambience
